Industry Folk,
Really??,
Relationships Mr. Big
I want to know… who married their Mr. Big?
You see, a group of us in “the industry” were talking, and while we’ve all had a Mr. Big in our lives, none of us actually married him. More often than not, Mr. Big seems to represent something to us ladies that until we met him, we didn’t even know we wanted or was missing in the first place.
One of the wedding professionals I was speaking with said that as a girl who played the field for a long time, this man made her ponder what life would be like on the “other side”. You know, the side with a beautiful wedding, marriage, kids and a lovely house somewhere in suburgatory? She had never even considered that these things could be something she wanted before she met him. But, in typical Mr. Big fashion, they didn’t get married because he dumped her ass. It’s like he gave her a glimpse of the future, and then took off… (Obviously I know they ended up together in the movie, but that’s just it… it’s a fucking movie! If this situation were real life, then I doubt they’d be together! Hence why I am writing this post! ) The silver lining? She said that it was the best worst thing that ever happened to her. Mr. Big opened her eyes to a life that could be, one she hadn’t contemplated, and ultimately to her current husband.
Which leads me to my opening statement…

I ALMOST married my Mr. Big. He totally taught me that I wanted more out of life than dating around. The reason we aren't together now isn't because he was an ass, but because he was much older then me and wanted the house, babies and all of that immediately, and I wasn't quite there yet. I will say that I am so happy he was in my life because I think I would've run away from my current fiancé instead of going on our first date!
You are not supposed to marry your Mr. Big. Take it from me, because he was the dream, and once that dream faded, I was left with an egotistical, maniacal, deeply shallow man child. Apparently he was showing some other girl her dream on several occasions. I just hired an attorney.
I married mine. After several years of back and forth, something clicked. Most of my friends weren't too thrilled because they knew too much, but whatever. The person in your blog sounds like a slut, and that's probably why he dumped her.
What the hell evoo!! Way to go with the slut shaming. Doing all us females very proud. This Mr big sounds like an asshole. My fiance and I both did our discovering together, not just about marriage and screaming kids but about life being bigger than just ourselves, trying to live ethically in this fucked up greedy society. I'm so glad I found this blog, keeps my head on my shoulders and even though your venue can screw you over like they did with us (with 3 months to go till the wedding), its not the fucking end of the world, we'll find something else and that's OK : )
I love you bitchless bride!!
Hey Rachbot!
I hear you lady! You'll be just fine... Hopefully you'll find another venue that you like just as much, if not better. Hang in there!! Sounds like you gotta good one.
Thanks for the BB love!!
XO,
BB
