Trust is NOT a Four Letter Word

I’m still in vacation mode, so this is gonna be short and not so sweet. I am pissed off and ready to FIGHT! I'm pissed because this bitch bride keeps putting my brain back in work mode while I’m supposed to be enjoying some boozy fun in the sun! But mostly I am super annoyed because I am like two shakes away from yelling, “WHY DID YOU HIRE ME IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO TRUST ME AND MY NETWORK OF VENDORS?” Seriously! What the FUCK?

Brideys, I feel like I am ninety years old, repeating myself 100 times because I don’t remember that I just said something. But I DO remember… Okay? And, I have said it several times; if you hire a planner, then hire them. Trust them. Trust their network. If I say that you are going to love a particular vendor, then I can tell you that there is a 99% chance that you will in fact love them. No need for “vendor research”, no need to look out of state (what??) and no more fucking whining about them because they didn’t get back to you within 12 hours. I mean wedding cake bakers are not on their fucking iPhone, obsessively checking their email, okay? You know why? Because they are baking fucking cake, that’s why! And your DJ? Yeah, he's MCing an event! So chill out!

Nobody is playing games with you. They are just busy. Just like you are a busy attorney with NO time for your wedding planning, your vendors are busy making cakes, creating floral arrangements, putting together albums, etc. And frankly, if I am not worried about their response time, then you shouldn’t be. I promise, I will let you know when it’s time to worry. Got it?

UGGGGGHHHHH! That’s all I got today. Please, leave me alone.

"Because they are baking f***ing cake, that’s why!" Omg, I am dying over here. I'm so sorry.

    Hi Mindy,

Ha! Unfortunately, I'M dying because this bitch bride is killing me slowly. I just wrote the word "fuck" in an email to her... Think she'll fire me or is that just wishful thinking?

    Thanks for your comment!

    XO,
    BB

Ha! You are the best! Brides ARE crazy but only this is important to them, right? Then again I did have a florist fire ME as a bride but that's cause SHE was crazy. Good times!

Amen sista! Heeheehee -And don't forget to mention that when they get the email they don't read them thoroughly and ask questions you have already answered {even before they asked}.

    Hey Melissa!

You got fired as a bride?! Ha! She must have been coo coo because you're like the nicest person in the world! I bet you were a great bride too!

As for my crazy bridey, she's calling me later to discuss a few things. UGGGG!!

    Wish me luck!

    XO,

    Hi Annie!

LOL! So true!!! I don't get it! Why??? Seriously... They are so worried about etiquette for their wedding yet they completely forget about their manners while planning!

    Thanks for the comment!!

Haha tahnks BB! You too! I was a pretty rocking bride! But looking back on it, there are definitely things I could have done to be less self centered....never unkind, just in the moment. Good lesson for all thinks in life I guess!
    Thanks for the reminder
    M xoxo

    Hey M,

Anytime! I bet you were a rocking bride!! You are so positive!

Oh my! I've had this one before myself. Makes me nuts. Nine times out of ten, when it gets right down to it, the client-in-question admits that they had nothing to worry about AFTER the event. I do wish people would take a deep breath and learn to LET GO. If you hire someone to take care of the worrying for you, please don't try to push them to the point of wanting to throttle you instead! ;)

    Hey Elisa!

EXACTLY! Throttle is the PERFECT word for this kind of behavior! And you are totally right... they always say that we, the planner, were right after the event. So frustrating!!

    Thanks for the comment!

OMG! I just discovered your blog and I'm absolutely fandabidozi in love with you! You keep it real, but give a nice dose of constructive criticism and education. You're a breath of fresh air!

Even though I'm not in the wedding industry or a bride (my best friend is a bride and she pointed me here), I feel like a lot of what you have to say is so applicable to every facet of life, especially this post. (Side note public service announcement- Just like how you should listen to your wedding planner, listen to your doctors! They know what they are doing.)

Anyways, just wanted to say again that you're awesome. You're awesome!

    Hey Anjuli!

You crack me up! I love that you used the word "fandabidozi"!!! Thank you for your comment and love!

I truly just want these crazy brides to listen and learn from this blog and my anecdotes. (And to their doctors too)!!!

I really beleive these Brides are doing drugs because they lack brain cells or the right ones. What they all need is some Prozac mixed in with their food!
