When Moms Behave Badly

From the Desk of the Invitiation Whore Next Door
Seriously, don’t get me started. You’ve talked several times about the MOB and the bride not fighting in front of us (the vendor), and sadly BB, nobody’s taking your sound advice.
I swear I am going to get a freaking T-shirt that says, “I survived the mother of the bride”. Forget about the bride being crazy, because in this case she was a complete doll (well at least in the beginning). Her mother? SHE was batshit crazy!
From the get-go this MOB proclaimed in front of EVERYBODY, that this was not her daughter’s wedding, it was hers. She was going to plan, design, and orchestrate all of the details and basically, her daughter was along for the ride and need only to show up on the wedding day. This woman picked out invitations she knew the bride didn't like, and unfortunately that didn’t stop her from moving forward. Honest to God this horrible woman just didn’t care about what her daughter wanted at all, and it all began with the invitations.
This was a very big wedding because the mother’s guest list was more then 50% of the people invited. The bride was only allowed to invite 30 of her own friends (really?). And because of the bullshit with the guest list, it was such an ugly scene every time we met to discuss the details… The bride was so livid over the invitation situation that she PHOTOCOPIED the final invitation, and sent them to everyone she wanted be invited to the wedding. You can imagine how confused the MOB was when she began receiving response cards from people she never knew were on the list! Towards the end, I really don't know who was worse, the mother or the bride. It was truly embarrassing and horrifying to witness. So happy that one is behind me.
BB’s parents said it best in the last video; don’t embarass yourselves in front of a vendor by fighting. Save that crap for the car ride home.
