An Intimate, Backyard Wedding Filled with Tons of Charm, Warmth and Some Mischief

On occasion, I can get a bit corny. It’s a rare occurrence, saved only for special moments, and today is definitely one of those days. Betsy and Suliko are a super chill, super romantic couple, and I am absolutely OB SES SED with them and their awesomeness. Seriously, they are like the couple of my dreams (totally corny!). First of all, they did something I could never do… They kept their relationship private for a very long time! Right? OMFG! Usually after a first date (provided it went well), I’d be blabbing to anybody who will listen. I couldn’t imagine keeping anything quiet, let alone meeting my soulmate! But, more than the cool nature of their relationship, the B+G got married in their backyard, right in the heart of Raleigh. The best part? They moved in less than a month before their wedding day! That alone is completely badass and totally risky!

Betsy and Suliko’s gorgeous wedding was made up of only their closest friends and family (20 people), and their friend Meredith, whom they work with, became ordained so she could marry the B+G. Awwwww…. Bridey, there are so many exquisite details for you to absorb. The mismatched chairs, the twinkle lights, the food, the cakes (yes CAKES!), their dog, Olive… But, my favorite part? I love that these two stayed true the nature of their relationship, and had a super lovely, super chill at home wedding, and did it well. Enjoy!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ceremony seating!

Olive! You’re such a cutie!!!

This truly made me laugh out loud! When Suliko went to read his vows, he pretended that they were so long they spilled to the ground. Hence the mischief! YAAAASSSS!!

They did it!! And Olive is just chillin’!

So, I have cats, and they don’t do cool shit like this.

See what I mean about the corny-factor? How could I NOT be corny about the B+G?!!

First of all, I love the blue door! Secondly, Betsy wore a stunning David's Bridal gown, and added the ribbon sash tied around her waist. LOVE IT!

The MOG, Inga, made all of this totally delicious food!

The garden gnome was a gift to Betsy from Suliko, and it kept making an appearance during the course of the evening. HAHA!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Mid Summer Night Dream in a Secret Garden

Here we go again... My obsession with the amazing photographer, Hilary Cam,continues. This wedding is so spectacular! Dare I say the words, swoon-worthy? Sorry, but it is! And although swooning really isn't my thing, this wedding is just fucking brilliant! I mean... Laura and Dylan created a day so fabulous and so intimate, that when you see the photographs and read a bit about all that went into making this day so lovely, you're probably going to drool... Drawing inspiration from a Midsummer Night’s Dream, their reception was quite heavenly and super romantic. They definitely went with some contemporary and daring twists reflecting their creativity and individuality.

From Hilary Cam: "Laura works as a freelance stylist and designer for The Styling Branch so we knew she had something fabulous planned for her own day. Dylan and Laura’s intimate reception was in absolute seclusion out on Scotland Island. Guests arrived by boat and climbed the sandstone stairs to a magical garden full of fairy lights. Their reception was ethereal; woodland tablescapes with moss, scattered tea lights, mason jars and flowers, with a canopy of Edison lights overhead. Their wedding was intimate, romantic and magical for all who were there."

This photograph says it all.. Brilliant!Hilary Cam: Describe  your wedding in one sentence.
Bride: ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ set within ‘The Secret Garden’

HC: What do you do for work?
Bride: I’m an Interior Designer / Freelance Stylist

For some reason, this pic reminds me of Entourage...HC: How long have you been together?
Bride: 2 years.

HC: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme / style?
Bride: I have always dreamt of having ‘a midsummer nights dream’ garden wedding. I wanted to create an intimate, romantic, magical feeling for us and for our guests. And it was EXACTLY as I had imagined it to be.

Oh yeah! Oh yeah! (Another Entourage reference...)FUCKING AWESOME!

Fantasy Friday ~ A Rustic, Chic, Backyard Wedding… Bitchless Style

I love it when people classify weddings as “rustic”. Like, obvi I know what it means, and I LOVE a good rustic wedding, but when I think rustic, I think of tents (like the ones you need to pitch… OMG it’s all I can do not to take this to a raunchy level, anyway…), I think canoes, and I think fire pits and the like. Right? I definitely don’t think about a kickass wedding filled with incredibly unique DIY aspects, vintage cars, old trucks, bocce and a backyard tent with a chandelier. Do you? Well, now you will, bridey!! Because Larissa and Richie just took “rustic” to a whole new level. A chic level. A cool level. A level that screams FABULOUS level!

Another cool aspect of this wedding? Scroll down, bridey. It’s clear that Larissa and Richie’s guests are having a fantastic time! I mean, I know that weddings should be all about the bride and groom, blah blah blah, but Larissa and Richie definitely put some thought into their entertainment and décor, and thought about what would make everybody happy, not just the two of them. And I dig it. Seriously, it’s what Bitchless Bride is all about! So, bridey, if you’re looking for rustic, chic wedding inspiration (look no further…Nope, I can’t say that…I sound like a used car salesman!) put your mouse, thumb or arrow to good use and have some fun!

Lovin' the lock and key! Such a fun idea! There are so many aspects about this pic that make me melt... Love how Richie is holding the veil! And the look on Larissa's face? OMG...I swear I could see this photo in a magazine!I mean... THIS is awesome!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Homestyle, Colorado, Beautiful Backyard Wedding

I love that this wedding was submitted to me not only because of the stunning details, but because it's truly a "bitchless" wedding. Seriously, I LOVE that "bitchless" is more than just a trademark. The whole reason why I put my heart and soul into this website is to educate you, bridey, and if the word bitchless is becoming a thing, then I guess I am doing something right.

Check out the little bit by the fabulous photographer, Urban Safari Photography: " I am thrilled to submit Tina + Alex's seriously bitchless, backyard wedding! I'm not kidding, these two were absolute joys to photograph. There was not a single moment of bridezilla-ness or groomzilla-ness, and I'm so happy to have shared their wedding day with them. They planned a killer backyard wedding in the hills of the beautiful mountains in Colorado..."

I've seen this photo a million different ways, but this is by far one of my faves...Tina, you look STUN NING! Just a couple of dapper boys waiting for some girls...I love the jewel toned flowers! And that awesome altar... WOW!Okay, cowboy boots aren't my thing, but DAMN they look good on everybody else!Um, nice backyard!!!!!I love the small intimate bridal party.Okay. I had to show you this picture. Honestly, I wasn't really sure where to place it, so, here is good!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ FABULOUS Backyard Wedding

I'm pretty sure I have a girl crush on Holly. No, I really do. Yeah, Holly's the stunningly fabulous, effortlessly cool bride in these photographs. Her mom created the cool ass birdcage veil, and her wedding dress is from BHLDN. Emily, the photographer said that:

"Holly and Shane met 12 years ago when they were both traveling through Europe. As life would have it, though, they were not yet ready to settle down (what 16 year old really is, after all?). Fast forward a decade, add some higher education, a couple trips around the world and some major growing up, and you’ll find yourself at August 18, 2012, where this seemingly destined couple said their vows to one another in the backyard of Holly’s father in East Grand Rapids, Michigan."

So brideys, please enjoy this amazing eye candy, and you know what? Learn a little bit too... Because this wedding? Well, it's the kind of wedding you want to make your own.

One of the coolest parts of a backyard wedding? Getting ready at home where everybody is comfortable and happy.

Seriously? How cute is Holly? I mean...

I love the red shoes! I love that they are all different to go with all of the different shades of turquoise bridesmaids dresses!

Hell yeah! Lift 'em up! Oh, and what's YOUR something blue?
