When Brooklyn Goes a L'il Bit Country... A Beautiful, Mountainy, Ranch Wedding!

Amy and Cameron? New Yorkers! Yup! They are living in Brooklyn and had their wedding at a ranch in Nevada! Talk about a destination wedding!! Right? Why? Well, because Amy is originally from the area, and it has become special to Cameron too. And, why the fuck not? Why not have your wedding on a mountain range? If the area is meaningful to the B+G, and the wedding is about them as a couple, then how FABULOUS (and daring) are they for selecting this cool venue? I bet the New Yorkers were a little out of their element!

Bridey, when asked what advice Amy had for other brides, she said something that totally resonated with me (and SEVERAL brides who I've worked with in the past)... She said, "Though we were engaged in December and married in November, we didn't decide on the city of our wedding until about five months out. Keeping the planning window short was a huge blessing. No one needs to obsess about details for longer." Can I get a HELL YES!!! Bridey, sometimes this isn't always possible, but if you can do it, then DO IT! Enjoy the engagement, enjoy each other, and try to enjoy the planning! But, if nothing else, then please enjoy the details of this BEAUTIFUL wedding!!Cow...

WOW! Such a beautiful wedding dress!!

Um. Yes, please! Love the shoes, Amy!

Amy: The ceremony began with a welcome from Cameron's dear friend Zack, and my brother gave a blessing that captured the room. Pastor Pat Mecham administered the vows--first for our family, asking them to promise their support of our marriage, and then for us. We wrote our own vows and repeated the same promises to one another.

One of my fave pics! SO super candid!!

Stunning.

I'm guessing that holding a pitchfork would probably be too much for these New Yorkers!

FABULOUS escort cards!!

Wow. Just wow!

Amy: "We shipped Junior's New York Cheesecake from Brooklyn to Elko. It's the best cheesecake in New York and was a slice of the city at our country wedding."

I love that Amy didn't have any bridesmaids... Amy: "Just my sister. It was important to us to have our family surround us on our wedding day. Cameron's brother was his best man."

Clearly, everybody is having a great time!

Thank you Amy and Cameron for sharing your kickass wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ From the Peace Corps All the Way to Brooklyn

This is an absolutely incredible wedding filled with such amazing energy and love, so if tears of joy aren't streaming down your face by the end of this post, then something is wrong with you! Just kidding. I was trying to be super dramatic (must be the cold medicine), and it's just not me. Anyway, Ericka and Emily met while serving in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia. I mean, shit... I met my hus in a bar (and was pretty proud of how strong we're still going), and these two meet in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia? Whoa. Talk about meant to be...

Anyway... From the Peace Corps all the way to Brooklyn. That's where E&E are currently residing. And on beautiful fall day, they exchanged vows by the lake in Prospect Park. Take a look...

I think I would look really cute in suspenders. Seriously. I think I need some.
I'm sorry, but these peeps are cool!
OMG. That headpiece!
Wait for it... Okay! Look down!!!
It really doesn't get much cuter!
The brides and their party took in the colorful murals in the neighborhood.
Such a fun bridal party!
Simply in LOVE with the bouquets!!
Joy. That's adulterated joy.

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Brooklyn Baby!

You know how there are just those couples that are "cool"? Well then, meet Jantra and Mercer. They are a cool ass couple who got married in Brooklyn, and according to the photographer, they were fun to work with... No complaining (a true Bitchless Bride!), and no stress. They completely enjoyed their day, their way, even stopping to take a drag off a ciggy before the ceremony!

Jantra and Mercer (even their NAMES are cool!) exchanged their vows at Rebar in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The incredibly beautiful views of the East River and Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, made for stunning photos as you can clearly see. Plus, Mercer's awesome mustache was super fun to photograph, and anybody can see his cool personality through the stash!

For me, the best part of this wedding? They had fun. Their guests had fun. And... while a few things went wrong, they didn't let it get in their way of having the time of their lives! I mean, just look at these fantastic photographs! Jantra and Mercer danced the night away with their family and friends!

1. Bridey, how did you meet your spouse?

We both attended NYU for undergrad. We met while working as orientation leaders who welcomed incoming freshman over the summer. He was a year ahead of me and I think my first words to him were, "Can I smoke here?"

2. How long were you together before you were engaged?

We were together two years, but were friends for ten years and already living together.

3. What was the length of time between the engagement and the wedding?

It was a year and a half of planning.

4. Where did your wedding take place? (venue, city and state)

Our wedding took place at ReBar gastropub, Brooklyn, NY.

5. If you don't mind my asking, what was your budget, and where did you choose to spend most of it?
