Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Circus, Carnival Fantasy Wedding

Bridey, I want to show you Rachel & Jake's entire wedding album. Seriously, I want to show you every detail of this Halloween wedding (from like, three weeks ago!) because it is just so fucking FAB that I had the hardest time weeding out the photographs for BB. Bridey, every single day I hear this quote from you, "I really want my wedding to be different." Well, THIS is called putting your money where your mouth is! For real, when you scroll down, you will see more of that AWES BALLS (I dunno, it just came out) paper flower bouquet, COTTON CANDY bridesmaids bouquets, the cutest flower girl ever and a fried TWINKIE.

So the next time you preach, "I want my wedding to be different...", bridey, I want to you remember Rachel & Jake's wedding. And while I don't expect all of you to get married on a carousel rockin' a 1930's circus, carnival fantasty, I do expect you to maybe take a small piece of this wedding, and make it your own. Got it?

I know this is supposed to be retro, but I keep seeing Reservoir Dogs for some reason!Seriously! Look at their view! Imagine having this shot in your wedding album! It's almost showtime! The flower girl? Makes me want to have kids... But, besides my ticking clock, the cotton candy was actually used (before it was eaten, obvi) as bouquets! (Ultimately replaced with candy apples because the cotton candy was clearly too tempting!)

Fantasy Friday ~ I Wish I Trashed My Dress!

There's no doubt that I love a good "trash-the-dress" session. Jumping into the ocean, splattering neon paint at each other, rolling around in the mud (hey, whatever works!)... All quite fun, but honestly this is by far the most creative I've seen. And you know why? Because the bride and groom... Chandra & Danny? Well, they did something almost ordinary; somewhat common even. They attended the Hawaii State Fair. Doesn't sound too crazy, does it? But, attending a carnival in evening ware? A tux and a wedding dress no less? That's pretty fucking awesome! Not too mention the breathtaking shots photographer Rachel Robertson was able to grab!

And I guess that I put this cool ass, day-after session in Fantasy Friday because on some level, I'm a bit envious. I wish I had the opportunity to trash my wedding dress in a uniquely fabulous way, but I didn't. Sniff Sniff. However, It was a bit euphoric wearing a wedding dress in the Bellagio casino... Just sayin'... Anyway, enjoy this fantastic, uniquely fabulous trash-the-dress shoot! I know I did!

Stunning wedding dress, modern tuxedo and a great looking couple? Oh! And how could I forget the after wedding shoot at the Hawaii State Fair! Honestly, I'm a little jealy...

Absolutely in LOVE with this shot. The veil blowing in the wind, their loose, almost child-like legs floating in the air, and the beautiful stucture? Um, yeah.

This shot just makes me happy.

Bhhhaaaa!!! I cannot even get over these pics! Seriously! How fucking rad is this?

How to Throw a Super Stylish, Super COOL Carnival Wedding

Super stylish Sunday returns! Not only was I absolutely in love with our Super Stylish post last week, but I received such incredible feedback from all of you, that I thought I would keep it going! But, don't worry brideys, I'm not losing my edge; this is all part of your education. As you know, I always have your best interests in mind, and the more options you realize are available to you, the less of a bitch you will be during your planning! See where I'm going with this?

I mean, look at this amazing bride! Her dress is gorgeous, and the color is just exploding behind her! And OMG! Notice the flower necklace? Completely fucking fantastic. Right? I'm so used to seeing diamond and pearl necklaces that when I see something so extraordinarily rockin' and different, I have to point it out!

As a planner, the three pictures above put tears in my eyes. Seriously, I'm crying as I'm writing... This is a carnival theme brideys... A theme that has serious trashy and super cheesy potential. And what I am showing you today are all the ways it can be done well. So pay attention!

I'm one of the people who is absolutely addicted to popcorn, candy and cake. Really... I workout to support my eating habit. True story. So when I see popcorn at a wedding? I need to have some alone time... Just me, the popcorn (usually sprinkled with M&Ms or other candy!) and some soda. Everybody else can be whooping it up on the dance floor and there's BB, sitting alone, wolfing down some tasty treats in a corner somewhere! For me? Popcorn and candy at a wedding? Priceless...

I thought these mini cherry pies would provide a necessary energy boost if passed on the dance floor. Picture these on a tray with a tall shot glass of vanilla milk... Yeah... A totally delicious, two-bite experience washed down with some ice cold goodness. No need to leave the floor!

I love this invitation. I also love that is is displayed at the actual wedding with some cool décor. See bridey? You don't need a lot of moola to make it awesome! SPEAKING OF AWESOME... See the picture next to the invitation? I am drooling right now. I am OBSESSED with cotton candy... I look forward to baseball games just so I can eat the damn cotton candy! I know... I'm crazy, but it's the truth! Again, something cool for your guests that's relatively inexpensive.

There you have it brideys... Carnival theme. Done well, and not cheesy. What cool ideas do you want to share with us?
