A Beautiful, 1960s Themed, at Home Wedding in the United Kingdom

Bridey, I can't EVEN with this wedding. Like. NOT.EVEN.A.LITTLE.BIT. The story of Laura + Richard is so unbelievably lovely. And even lovelier? Is the way they decided to get married... On their terms, on a limited (yet determined) budget, and all while celebrating their love for the past, present and future. L+R met very young, and knew they were going to be together forever. One of the first things Richard said to Laura was that he was going to marry her! And he was right! They got tied the knot on their 10th anniversary of being together. But, my favorite part? They got married at home. Somewhere that's not just another venue, but in a place that means something to them.

Laura said that, "For me this was just as much a celebration of the adventures we’d already had together as well as the promise to keep on sharing our lives. Budget was a big factor in our planning, we only had whatever money we could save up and for us borrowing money, or spending a huge amount on one day wouldn’t have felt right when we were still in a rented flat and hoping to buy our own home at some point. After looking at a few venues, mainly barns, I realised that everything we liked was completely out of our price range. Then it dawned on me, why pay for a venue at all. We weren’t planning on inviting a huge number of guests as neither of us like to be in the spotlight, so why not just have the reception at home. My mum agreed to host in her little garden...'' How amazing is Laura's mom!?? Right? I love the idea of being home! And, bridey, you will too after you see the details! Enjoy!

OMFG! The headpiece, the dress, the bouquet. OH MY!!!

The sheer excitement captured in these photographs has my eyes welling up with big, puffy (almost ugly crying) tears!

Absolutely OB SES SED with the 'maids and everything they are rockin'.

Laura said, "... I was inspired to have the wedding as homemade as possible, we would save money but it would also make the day unique and special. We have lots of creative friends who got involved and helped us in all sorts of ways.''

I mean... If that's not a beautiful couple... LOVE L+R!!

Two things here... First of all, the bouquet. Totally gorgeous! Right? And the other thing? See Laura's' orange nails? I LOVE that she's wearing orange polish on her wedding day!!

Richard, your a fantastic looking groom (and dude in general)! #Justsaying

If you're taking your wedding home, then it's super important to incorporate elements of home in your décor. This B+G did a fantastic job with the details...

Um, yes please!!! Looks delish!

I don't know who you are, but I love you!!! Is one of those for me?

I really don't know which pic is cuter... Look up. Okay, now look down. Right?

Bridey, THIS is utter happiness. Take it all in...

Laura, you are stunningly beautiful, and your excitement and love is encapsulated in every.single.picture.

L+R, thank you for sharing your "homemade" wedding with Bitchless Bride!! Your wedding was truly incredible!

An Intimately Awesome, Super Spiritual, Breckenridge Mountaintop Wedding

I think it goes without saying, that if you meet your sig other at a concert and connect because you both share the same love and passion for music, it's 100% meant to be. I mean, music makes everything better. Right?! I'm definitely one of those people that always has to have music playing wherever I am or whatever I'm doing; it dictates how I feel, my energy and my mood. Music is quite literally a soundtrack for particular moments; one that spills into whatever we are doing. And, our kickass B+G, Eleanor and Erik? Yeah, they met at a concert. And, I think that when you meet at magical place like a concert, it's like getting extra relationship credit.

Eleanor and Erik exchanged their vows in front of 11 people. ELEVEN. On a fucking mountaintop (Breckenridge to be exact). How amazing is that, bridey? And their wedding reception? Gorgeously colorful, incredibly DIY and deliciously cool. And as usual, I am completely obsessed with the cake (And, I could totally use some sugar in my life right now, but that's another post for another day...). Anyway, go get scrolling and get inspired! Because you won't be able to NOT to be!

Um, OMG Eleanor... This headpiece is absolutely A MAZ ING!!! YOU'RE amazing!!

I love all of the smile-kisses in this post!

Hello handsome Erik! I have to admit, if I were there, I'd have a hard time resisting the desire to touch your beard!

How FAB is this bouquet??

I mean you gotta pit stop at Erik’s glass blowing studio on the way to the reception. Right?? Look how fucking awesome this is! Okay, now, look down!

Lovin' this super cute sign!!

The cake! OMG with the cake! I want to stick my face in it!

Thank you Eleanor + Erik for sharing your fantabulous wedding with Bitchless Bride! I wish I got to be one of the eleven peeps!!

An Elegant, 'Tacolicious', San Francisco Wedding Filled with Family, Fun and a Furbaby!

Bridey, how cool is that photograph? Right? Definitely a side of the Golden Gate Bridge you don't see very often! Although, I can't say I'm too surprised that Malorie + Ashley found a corner of something already so extraordinary, and made it even more exceptional... I mean, these two had TACOS at their wedding, which leads me to believe that anything is possible! TACOS! Yes, TACOS! And, on top of that, they served homemade banana pudding and whoopie pies! OMFG, if only I could have been there! But, these pics are so FAB that it totally feels like I was there (well, minus the fact that my stomach is growling!), and you will too!

The story? Well, Malorie + Ashley met at American University in DC, but the romance didn't begin until Malorie graduated and left the area (isn't that always the way?). Once they realized that what they had was well beyond friendship, they followed each other across the country. Awwww.... Sniff... Sniff... Anyway, I love their story (keep scrolling for more deets), I love their super chill and elegant vibe, and I love how they love each other. Enjoy!!

Are you dying over those bouquets? The dresses? RIGHT? Totally gorgeous!

From the bridesOur actual ceremony took place at City Hall. That was the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding day. The ceremony was on the 4th floor balcony with a handful of family and a gorgeous backdrop.

Kemper Sellers.003.jpeg

Bridey, you know I am such a sucker for a good "look", right? And, this pic is no different... I LOVE it when we catch a glimpse into a relationship simply by a captured moment. So powerful!

Hooray! We did it!!

I mean... Talk about an amazing backdrop...

Kemper Sellers.006.jpeg

From the brides: We have a French Bulldog named Frannie who we are obsessed with and treat like a child, so we knew that we needed to find room in our day to include her. After our ceremony at City Hall, one of our best friends arrived on the building steps with Frannie who was dolled up in a special bowtie for the occasion! We were able to snap a few photos with our furbaby before continuing on to the reception.

Kemper Sellers.007.jpeg

From the bridesAfter the ceremony, we surprised our friends and family with a trolley tour of the city. We drove around the Embarcadero and through Fisherman's Wharf, then made a stop at Fort Point for incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and breaching whales. Most of our family hadn't been to San Francisco before, so this was the perfect "2-hour tour" to share the highlights with them.

Kemper Sellers.008.jpeg

From the brides: When we started planning our wedding, we fell in love with one venue only to find out that a construction project was scheduled for our wedding month. So we went back to the drawing board. Eventually, we found the perfect spot at the SF Film Centre in the Presidio. We knew we wanted a beautiful location that showcased an iconic part of the city and this checked all of our boxes.

Kemper Sellers.010.jpeg

LOVE LOVE LOVE the décor! It's light and refreshing, yet classy and elegant.

Kemper Sellers.011.jpeg

From the bridesWe LOVE tacos! And Tacolicious is one of our favorite spots in the city. Their catering is out of this world, and their event coordinator Brielle Gordon was incredible.

Kemper Sellers.009.jpeg

From the bridesWearing fancy heels for the wedding was fine and all, but we also wanted to be able to boogie on the dance floor at our reception. We had matching custom Chuck Taylor sneakers printed with our wedding logo so we could change into those after all the formality was complete.

Kemper Sellers.012.jpeg

From the bridesWe had a baking extravaganza with our mothers a couple of days before our wedding and made all of our childhood favorites. Our guests loved the selection of sweet treats, everything from whoopie pies to banana pudding!

A Beautifully Elegant, Beautifully Burgundy and Just Beautiful Florida Wedding

I LOVE a good story about fate, good timing and destiny. And, while I'm a huge believer that we create our OWN destiny, and while "good things come to those who wait", good things also come to people to push past their fears, decide that waiting is stupid and "JUST DO IT"! I mean... you have to push destiny along a little bit, right? Any idea why am I harping on this? Well, because even though Erica + William met in 2009, the timing wasn't right, and it wasn't until 2011 when things started to heat up after re-connecting via social media.

Bridey, there is just so much I love about this wedding. The color scheme, the white dance floor (HELL YEAH!) the A MAZ ING wedding dress, the impressive DIY elements, and the overall feel of the day bursting through in each and every photograph. There are so many incredibly inspirational components for you to run with that I'm going to zip it so you can go explore. Enjoy!

Erica, you have one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen!

A Truly Stunning Steampunk Wedding at The California State Railroad Museum

Dana + John's steampunk wedding oozes with sexy-awesome-fantastic. Bridey, I just had to use a combination of three adjectives because I was way too indecisive to stick with one word. I mean, just look at that pic! Right? Not only is Dana's whole ensemble is truly A MAZ ING (OMG... Are you as completely in love with her hair as I am?!!), but, she and John are so damn steamy! Like hot for teacher steamy! Right?? Not exactly sure who she's calling in this photo, but it's probably super important!

Anyway, bridey, the décor + the venue are a perfect match here. The California State Railroad Museum combined with the steampunk aesthetic is totally spectacular! Seriously, just wait until you see the red velvet skeleton heads! Yup! You read that right! RED VELVET SKELTON HEADS! Oh my! Even if steampunk isn't your thing, there are so many inspirational details captured in this cool and kickass wedding that I'd be surprised if you didn't walk away with at least ten things you want to incorporate into your wedding day! So go scroll, and get inspired!

Bohemian, BBQ and Bodacious... A Deliciously Alternative British Columbian Wedding

Imagine a wedding that was all your own. A wedding in which you chose exactly what you wanted and then built the day around those very important details. Bridey, I'd like you to meet Alli + Mikk. This B+G are a complete inspiration to brides everywhere simply because that is exactly what they did. They chose what was important to them and then constructed their wedding day around those particulars. It's so simple, yet so difficult to achieve usually due to the noise and bullshit that surrounds your wedding planning. But, A+M? They rocked it! And, I'm seriously in love with them.

Not to mention that this is the first time I've shared a pic of the bride nibbling the groom's ear on Bitchless Bride! Seriously, how is that possible?! Right?! But, beyond the ear nibbles, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this wedding submission because I felt like I was there. I swear I could taste the BBQ, feel the texture of the kickass dress and play the games (and drink the booze during the two hour cocktail hour!!). Bridey, I hope that you take piles and piles of inspiration away with this post, but more than anything else, I hope you take away that it's okay to do your wedding your own way.

This dress is EVERYTHING! I mean... The black mixed with the texture of the skirt... I'm officially in wedding dress heaven! Now, look down for a close up.

Walter Tammark.001.jpeg

Alli you are truly stunning! As you know, I'm completely obsessed with your wedding dress, but seeing you in it is absolutely breathtaking! Oh, and you look quite handsome too, Mikk!

Know what's amazing? Alli's friend put together this sensational bouquet! It's so bright and beautiful!

Walter Tammark.003.jpeg

Fuck yeah! Bridey, you gotta love a smoker at your wedding! BBQ baby!

Walter Tammark.004.jpeg

OMFG. Look how grandiose this structure is! Side note? It was hand built by the community and it belongs to the Estonian society.

#functionalunit2017. Fucking love it!

Walter Tammark.005.jpeg

Can we talk about how amazing the décor is? And, bridey, look closely. It's mostly plastic and it's fucking fantastic!

Walter Tammark.006.jpeg

YES! Check out that delicious pig! Last time I was at an event rockin' a whole pig there were birthday candles sticking out of it!

LOVE this pic! Super romantic!

An Incredibly Romantic, Extraordinarily Beautiful, Rustic German Wedding

I love this photograph. It's so simple and sweet while at the same time, utterly romantic and  full of passion. This photograph was taken in the midst of AnneMarie + Charles' wedding vows, and to me, it completely encompasses everything you could possibly want on your wedding day. All of that aside (I'm getting way to mushy!), can we talk about how cool A+C's wedding was? The B+G (and their guests) began the day with a hike through the German countryside, strolling down dirt roads, walking past corn fields and taking in the beauty of their surroundings until they reached a lovely little hilltop. That hilltop was the backdrop for their ceremony. I mean... WOW!! Super stripped down, super casual and super intimate.

Following the ceremony,  guests enjoyed a "picnic" cocktail hour and were spoiled with locally sourced cured meats & cheeses, some delicious champagne and horseshoes. Once everybody was brimming with charcuterie, the celebration continued at AnneMarie + Charles' home in the city center. The photographs are really incredible (and the food and the cake look A MAZ ING!), I could go on and on, but, I won't. So, go, enjoy!!

Hilltop ceremony anybody?

So gorgeous...

STFU with the dog!! He so sweet...

Seriously, I really may have to get a dog after these last few wedding posts...

I can't. It's too good.

Holy charcuterie batman! That.looks.amazing.

Now, that is an unbelievable table!

Damn, AnneMarie! Your back looks beautiful in that dress!

That cake! OMG! Simple and completely stunning!

Thank you A+C for sharing your lovely wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

An Industrial, Gold and Black Wedding Starring an AMC Rambler, Donut Porn + So Much More!!

I know what you're thinking, bridey. You're thinking that this pic totally looks like it came right out of a styled shoot. Am I correct? Well, I don't blame you for thinking that this is "styled", because it's SO fucking FAB, but it's actually Brenda + Luis' sweetheart table. A real couple and a real wedding. And the stools in front? Those are for guests to come by and say hello! How genius is that? Right?!!

Okay, it's obvious, that I am a l'il obsessed with the B+G and their exquisite taste, but I also love how I feel when I browse their wedding photographs. And, if I love the way I feel, I can only image how B+L feel when they look at their photos! Besides the kickass sweetheart table, the metallics and the donut display (Yup! DONUT DISPLAY!), Brenda's AMC Rambler definitely grabbed my attention. Luis fixed it up  (it originally belonged to B's grandfather) so that they could drive off in it at the end of the night. Um, how sweet is that? Enjoy this modernly fantastic wedding!! I totally did!!

Gorgeous dress... And that pearl bracelet? It was Brenda's grandmother's.

Luis! You're super dapper!!

Beautiful ceremony set...

Now that's a dip!!!! Oh yeah!!

Is that not the greatest car ever?!!

Sign me up! I love food trucks at a wedding!

Right? Isn't that so fucking FAB?!

Totally crushin' on the B+G!

I mean... Between the burgers and the donuts... The wedding is truly FOOD HEAVEN!

SO so so cute! Okay... ONE more pic of the donuts and then I will move on!

Thank you Brenda + Luis for sharing your awesomely cool and totally delicious wedding with Bitchless Bride!!!

A Rock 'N Roll, Rustic and Gorgeous DIY Colorado Wedding

Brionne could totally be my best friend. Seriously, any bride who says that she wants her wedding to be, "rustic, but not played-out or cheesy, and it has to have a rock-n-roll vibe to it..." is my fucking hero! Right?? Anyway, she and her hus, Michael, met while country dancing, and wanted to express that though the venue. Brionne said that, "seeing how ‘rustic elegance’ is so hot in country weddings today, it was important to me to bring some rock 'n roll to this twangy nightmare that was on instant replay in everyone’s’ bridal portfolio." Damn girl. So so so true. It's time to spice it up!

Another reason why I want Brionne to be my bestie? Well, she's super cool, and is like a DIY goddess! Seriously! Brionne painted each centerpiece vase, chargers, hand stamped the burlap, and collected items for the arrangements, including dried and live flowers, feathers, and metallic accents. Talk about an overachiever! And, just wait until you see her wedding dress! She kinda made it... Well, she made it the way she wanted it! I really could go on and one... So, just go scroll and read more about B+M's day! Enjoy!

There is just so much to love about this picture... Right?

Brionne bought her dress from David’s Bridal only to shred to pieces and transform into her vision. She said that, “I didn’t have time with everything else to build a corset from the ground up, so I found that using a basic design, I could spend the time I needed on the cosmetic changes instead of a full build”. Her inspiration?  A $40,000.00 design   she admired in Grace Ormond Magazine. I mean... WOW! She said that, “I like the unconventional textures and a vintage/worn appearance, there is beauty in art that holds history and certain elegance in textiles that have imperfections”.

OMG. The nails. The rings. The tattoos! LOVE IT!

This moment will probably be one of her favorite memories from the day!

Brionne made the invitations in Photoshop, and then uploaded the complete design to Vistaprint.

I love everything about this sign. And, you know what? That goes for us too. We've been unplugged. I don't have ceremony pics to share with you...

Oh Michael, I love how your imitating Brionne with your foot!

Remember, pretty much everything you see is DIY.

See that paper flower? Well, according to Brionne, “the best paper flowers were made by Michael. He totally shocked me with his paper flower skills. I mean, the guy is a Marine and sculpts a bad ass paper rose!"

Like... SO gorgeous!!! And delicious!

Hey! No peeking!! Thank you for sharing your truly unique, truly fantastic wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

A Fabulously Whimsical, Gorgeously Bohemian Wedding with a Side of Cake Porn!

I am OB SES SED with Lauren + Danny's cake topper! Like OBSESSED! I love how they took pictures from the wedding, and placed then on top of the cake! It's just so clever! And to make it even better, the pics are being held up high with clothespins! So cute! Well, I guess I'd expect nothing less from two teachers! Right? Cleverness definitely comes with the territory. And L+D? Well, their story is so awesome, just like the topper!

Two words... Workplace romance. Fucking love it!!! So, lauren's a high school music teacher, and Danny came in as the new tennis coach. Do I really need to say more?? Apparently, it all happened whirlwindy fast, which of course led to a spontaneous engagement (duh...), followed by a lovely bohemian wedding. Bridey, I love romantic stories like that! Don't you? Totally feels like the movies!! Anyway, this fun crew danced (in the grass) and dined from the B+G's favorite local food truck before enjoying the spectacular cake-porny wedding cake! Have fun with this one... I LOVE it!!

Such a simple yet beautiful bouquet!

This will make sense in a little bit... HA!

You know what they always say, "Groomsmen and their axes..." Just kidding! But, how super fun??

Lauren, you look beautiful and happy!!!

Ritch Hallihan.004.jpeg

That's a killer head piece!

I'm lovin' the rustic altar...

Such a sweet bridal party!!

OMG! I would LOVE to see my husband use an axe!!

GREAT idea!!

Um, one of each please!

Seven Essentials For On-Point Wedding Photos - A FAB Guest Post From a Photographer Who's Seen it All

This article isn’t about how to look natural when staring into your fiancé’s eyes or which poses are best for eliminating double chins (it’s one I affectionately call “chicken-head”). If you hired a professional photographer with a mind-blowing portfolio, they should take care of all that and make you look your best on your big day. It’s what we do.

What I’m talking about below are the other things… the non-photo-related factors that can so greatly determine the awesomeness of your wedding images. These are the top seven things that you might not even realize can make or break your photos.

1) Make sure you get good vibes from your vendors.
In short, don’t choose your wedding vendors based on price alone. Now, I know cost is not a thing we can avoid. I want furniture from Pottery Barn, but I generally end up at Target. We all wish we could hire whoever we want, regardless of price. A vendor might have a "special deal only for you if you sign on the dotted line right this moment" but consider how much time these vendors will be spending with you, how credible they are and how much trust you are putting in them. I’ve seen DJs not show up, hair and makeup go hours late, florists bring the wrong color bouquets, videographers block the ceremony view from the guests, and I’m not discounting the great number of horror stories from my own profession as well.

All of those factors lead to a lousy, frustrating wedding day, aka less-than-happy looking photographs. Determine your budget for each portion of your wedding day and then look at several vendors in that range. Take the time to meet with them and see if you mesh. If you find the golden vendor that is unbelievably affordable, it could totally be the real deal. Just make sure you do your research and listen to your intuition.

2) Consider hiring a day-of coordinator
In this DIY world of wonder, it's easy to feel like everything can be done ourselves. You're the bride - the last thing you want is to be checking your timeline and coordinating deliveries on your own wedding day. In the absence of a coordinator, too often the photographer gets tasked with keeping everything on track during a wedding day, and I'm pretty sure you'd rather have us doing what you hired us for – capturing gorgeous imagery. Make it easy on yourself and hire a day-of coordinator to keep everything going swimmingly. Even better: hire a wedding planner, which includes day-of coordination.

3) Have an unplugged wedding.
Picture this: Great Aunt Sally. iPad with hot pink case. Center aisle as you’re walking towards your groom… Photoshop can only magic so much. Virtually every wedding we shoot these days has rows of brightly colored phone cases lining the edges of the aisle. Have your officiant make a quick announcement before the ceremony asking everyone to abstain from photos during that part of the day. Not only will you have infinitely better photos, but your guests will get to experience the ceremony fully and without distractions.

4) Consider your wedding location and the time of year (aka, weather).
In my hometown of Las Vegas, summers are hot… like hairdryer on high, in-your-face hot. If you get married outdoors in hot weather, it’s likely you’ll be outside for hours during portraits – which means you might be sweating off your makeup and your groom might be sweating through his jacket. This doesn't mean you have to change your dream location or forget that perfect summer date you've always wanted, just make sure you’ve prepared. Choose your dress and tux carefully to make sure you won’t overheat, plan a break to cool off in between portraits and the ceremony, have fans, cold water, seek out shade and ask your photographer to have an alternate indoor location picked out.

5) Make sure your hair and makeup artists have wedding experience.
We all have undeniably amazing, talented friends who are makeup enthusiasts and salon stylists, but it’s vitally important (for the sake of your photographs and for your own vanity) to hire stylists with wedding experience. Two words are sacred to those who have worked with brides: waterproof and windproof. Wedding days have unpredictable weather conditions and emotional outpourings are no stranger to a bride and her entourage. No one wants tear streaks through their makeup or hair flying in all directions in their images.

6) Avoid getting too tipsy while getting ready for the wedding OR the night before the wedding.
Listen, I love a double-mimosa just as much as the next girl, but you want to "feel all the feels" during the first look and ceremony. Getting too tipsy means you'll be a bit numb through it all. And even worse, you might feel hungover and headachey throughout your own wedding day. All of that totally reflects in your wedding photos and the emotions we are trying to capture throughout the day. Wait till after you say "I do" to throw back a few shots of Fireball… and let us document the shenanigans that ensue.

7) Hire a professional event DJ.
Using your iPod playlist or asking a friend who has speakers to play DJ creates all sorts of unnecessary stress for you on your wedding day, but you might not realize how difficult it also makes it for your photographer. In order to photograph things smoothly and get great shots of your guests going crazy on the floor, we need a DJ who… a) knows the flow of weddings, b) is an experienced emcee and c) knows how to motivate people to bust a move. I can tell you first hand: I’ve been pleasantly surprised with a premature grand entrance while setting my gear down in the other room, and I’ve sadly seen weddings clear out right after dinner because the music did not get guests dancing.

An Out of This World, Geektastic, Beautifully Unique, Outdoor Wedding

I think it's obvious, bridey, based on the ceremony program alone, that you're going to like Lindsay and Nathanael. I love that they know exactly who they are, and can completely make fun of themselves. Plus, I love how they are taking care of their guests by providing chocolate right off the bat. Annnndddd.... I love the colors. With all of that awesomeness out of the way, but tons more to come (imagine the cake...), let me tell you a thing or two about the B+G, and their kickass wedding. Lindsay, the bride, did not wear white. She did not wear black. Girl wore a fantastic teal light-up dress. Yes. A light-up dress! OMFG!! I can't... And, Nathanael? Dude totally wore a clip-on blinking tie.

Aside from the bells and whistles (quite literally), L+N seriously rocked their wedding day. With a special kind of photo booth, an insanely awesome and creative wedding cake, super unique décor and a guest list that did not disappoint, this could be one of my fave weddings ever. I love how they stayed true to themselves while at the same time managed to break out of the wedding mold... Bridey, enjoy!!

OMG. I am completely obsessed with the jewels!

Yes! That's fucking awesome!

Lindsay... You're beautiful! Totally love the birdcage veil! And, your dress, your hair and your cleavage are absolutely amazing!

I can't... It's too FAB!

Love the bouquet!

You know... Just Luigi (as in Mario and Luigi), the ring bearer! Got to love a l'il cosplay at a wedding!
