The Truth Hurts Tuesday ~ When Obama Fucks Up Your Wedding, and Other Unexpected Obstacles

I wasn't going to do it. I was going to steer clear of this one. Seriously, because Bitchless Bride is not a blog in which we share our political views, and voice our opinions and/or disdain for government bullshit. But, this is not political, it's just bullshit. And the more I thought about it, and the more I reread the article on Bloomberg (I believe they broke the news first) the more I couldn't let it go. I had to throw in my two cents about how Obama just had to "play through" his golf game even if that meant that bride, Natalie Heimel, and groom, Edward Mallue Jr., both U.S. Army captains, had to move their wedding ceremony last minute. Seriously? What the fuck, Obama?

I've read that the President had no idea Natalie and Edward were planning their wedding ceremony at the 16th tee box at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. But, it all seems a bit fishy to me. NOBODY at the White House knew? Really? I find that hard to believe considering that the entire world knew that President Obama and his family were vacationing in Hawaii, and that the dude loves to plays golf on vaca... Just sayin'... And, when he (or one of his people) found out that two Army captains were planning on exchanging their vows on said golf course, perhaps the right thing to have done would have been to wait for the ceremony to end or skip the 16th hole altogether.

The other piece to this that really bothers me from a wedding planning standpoint? The disclaimer from the caterer responsible for arranging the ceremony with bride and groom. It states that if the president is in town, then "last-minute shuffling" (of the ceremony location) is a possibility. So, can somebody please tell me why they weren't proactive...

Fantasy Friday ~ A Divinely Sexy & Seriously Funny Engagement Shoot

When I think about an engagement shoot, it's rare that I think of them as "sexy" or "funny". Usually, I think about them as "boring" or "cheesy". Sorry, but it's true. I mean how many ways can a couple smile at the camera or look longingly at each other? Right? But, when I received Chelsea and Darian's shoot from the super talented Creatrix Photography, I was excited to show you, brideys, that an engagement shoot can be fun and sexy all at the same time.

It doesn't hurt that Chelsea and Darian are a great looking couple, but more than that, it's clear that they are completely captivated by one another. Sparks are flying all over the place with these two! And yet, they are laughing their way through the shoot. They are having a ball and it shows!

Brideys, this is the way to do it! Have fun with it! Get into the moment! Lose yourselves! Trust me, based on these photographs, Chelsea and Darian will look back at their engagement session as more than just a photo shoot, but more like a fantastic memory.

Sexy. Funny. Sexy.Clearly funny! I wonder what she was laughing at!!Anybody else thinking Top Gun right now?

Fantasy Friday ~ Twelve Down, Thirty-Eight to Go!

Meet Renee and Robin. Renee and Robin met at church, have been together for six years, have three kids, and are getting married in Kauai (where these images were taken) in August! Pretty fucking awesome, right? Totally!

But, you're probably wondering why this extraordinary engagement shoot falls under Fantasy Friday. I mean, yes these are amazing photographs. And yes, they ARE in Hawaii, but that's not why this post is here today. It's here today because as of this past Tuesday, Minnesota became the 12th state to legalize same-sex marriage. And my fantasy? Well, my fantasy is that the rest of the states, the slow pokes, will do the same... and fast!

So, please enjoy and savor these beautiful photographs of two people who love each other... Two people who love their kids, and of two people who deserve the same rights that I have by default... all because I sleep next to a man.

C'mon, they're in Hawaii... How could we not show you some of the local fabulousness?

I love how Renee is looking at Robin being a goof!

SO in love!
