Hawaiian Wedding

Fantasy Friday ~ A "Sweet" and Stunning, DIY Hawaiian Wedding

Aren't you dying over Jessica's hair? I mean the length, and the pure gorgeousness of the curls + the purple flower are enough to give me some serious hair envy. But, aside from the stunning nature of the bride, can we talk about how Aaron is looking at Jessica? Right? His face exudes utter joy; utter happiness. And Jessica? Well, you can tell, even by the back of her head, that she is smiling from ear to ear at Aaron. That, my dear bridey is what getting married is about... Utter joy and happiness.

Jessica and Aaron met while Jessica was waitressing. Talk about a tip! Meeting the love of your life is a pretty awesome way to end your shift! Right?? The two are avid travelers, so it seemed only natural for Aaron to propose to Jessica while in Tuscany, Italy surrounded by its vast beauty. As for the wedding, the B+G returned to Hawaii to say their vows (they currently live in Guam), and the majority of items were DIY, including the ENTIRE sweet table (WOW!). Yup! The bride made all of the desserts herself, and her FAB wedding planner plated them on platters out of reused glassware. That's some serious dedication! Anyway... Enjoy the AMAZE deets of Jessica and Aaron's wedding!

Bling bling.Jessica, you look sensational, and so at ease.Beautiful. Just beautiful.LOVE IT!!!! That look is absolutely priceless! What a fabulous idea for the programs! I love the benches and rose petal lined aisle. This pic... OMG... This pic... I love it so much.

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Fabulously Gorgeous, Waikiki Hawaii Wedding

I love a good story about sig others meeting when there's booze involved. Perhaps it's because I met my sig other in a bar (def a lot of booze involved), and we are still going strong! And the cool thing about Lancer (TOTALLY love that name!!) and Eddie? Yes, they met during a booze-filled celebration walking down St. Ann Street in New Orleans (in front of the Bourbon Pub), but, they kinda knew each other. Well, they had heard of each other over the years through their friends, but hadn't met in person. And, when they finally did meet, sparks flew! How fucking FAB is that? Lancer (still dying over how awes that name is!) says it best, so I'll let him tell you the story in his own words.

From the Groom: So all of my friends already knew Eddie. He was managing the Planet Hollywood hotel in Las Vegas and all of my friends would go to Vegas and he would hook them up. I was supposed to go once, but something else came up, so I never met him and only heard of this Vegas Eddie. So, in March of 2010 I went to New Orleans for my friend's Bachelor/Bachelorette Party. We arrived on Friday, March 19th and started drinking early. We were walking down Bourbon Street and turned the corner at St. Ann when Eddie came around the corner. Everyone I was with knew Eddie and saw him and yelled "Eddie!!". So, I met Eddie for the first time in front of the Bourbon Pub. I just thought he was so handsome. I have a thing for gray hair.

We met and hit it off right away. Later that night...ok, within 5 minutes... I was coming onto him. Our friend pulled out his phone and started recording me hit on Eddie. We have our first kiss recorded and our friend in the background said "wouldn't it be wild if they ended up together". Eddie was just stopping for the night in New Orleans on his way back to Atlanta, but ended up staying the whole weekend and came with us to all the weekend party events. He was living in Atlanta at the time and we ended up taking a few trips to get to know each other. We met in Vegas for a weekend and Boston for a weekend. Eddie then got a job in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. He was planning to go for a year, but the job was not what he wanted, so he moved back to Houston, where I was. He was planning to move in with his sister, her husband, 2 kids and their mom until he figured out his next move. I was excited to see him again and suggested that he move in with me since I was living alone in a 4-bedroom house. He didn't want to be a bother or move too fast, but I insisted.Everything was great after that. So, the proposal was not that exciting. No random flash mobs or hot balloons involved. We already bought matching rings.\In December 2012, we went on a cruise. While sitting at The Red Frog Pub on the Carnival Magic, we were talking about names. I said that boyfriend seems too juvenile, partner seems too professional, and husband is not accurate until we get married. Eddie took off my ring and said, let's get married, and put it back on my finger. I said yes, so now we can be called finances. We didn't pick a date or start planning until earlier this year. One of my FAVE pics ever!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Jeannie & Glenn's Hip Hopalicious Wedding... Destination Hawaii

I threw it out there, brideys. I shook it up. I didn't ask for specifics, I asked for favorites... Yup! I asked your wedding photographers to submit their favorite weddings. Why? Why not ask for themes, colors or whatever? Well, because I am so fucking busy and crazy these days that I kinda needed to be reminded why I am in this coo coo industry in the first place! Seriously. My ass is getting kicked every weekend (I mean... I LOVE seeing the weddings come through to fruition, but MAN am I tired!!), and I feel myself starting to bust at the seams...

Sooooo, thank God for Rachel from Rachel Robertson Photography... She submitted this beautiful Hawaiian wedding, and when I saw the stunning details, deep jewel tones, and the fucking fabulous hip hop dance the B+G performed for their guests, suddenly, I was reminded that there are cool brides and grooms who just need a little friendly event planning help. Especially when the wedding is in Hawaii and you are in New York! Holy destination wedding! PLUS, Rachel mentioned that Jeannie and Glenn were two of the most hilarious and fun couples she had ever worked with, and when you see the photographs, you will see why! I already mentioned the hip hop dancing, but wait until you see Glenn undress Jeannie on the dance floor... OH YES HE DID!!!!

Holy shit with the gorgeous flowers. Damn.
Definitely need to add these to my "Shoes I Want" board on Pinterest!!
Beach. Orchids. Altar. Amazing.
LOVE the program fans!!
Such a subtle, lovely shot...
WOW! Really pretty dresses and flowers!
I love Glenn!!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Little Romance in Paradise

See that, bridey? Know what that is? Complete and utter happiness. I love Michelle and Seung's Hawaiian wedding so much because even without the engagement story that I am about to share with you (or that Michelle is about to share with you), it's clear that these two are head over heals... Plus, not gonna lie, I love that they met at work and it took a 'lil booze to finally move things along! So, bridey, I am going to let Michelle take it away... Enjoy the eye candy!!!

From the bride: We met through work and finally started dating a few months later. We were secretly admiring from a far. It took a little bit of "liquid courage" to get things going. Sounds so terrible! Lol, but it's true!

Love that the Raiders shirt is staying on underneath the tux! From the bride: A random Wednesday night before bed, he called me to go outside in the backyard with him. I was wondering what he wanted since I was all ready to go to bed I even had my sleeping clothes on (hence why we don't have proposal photos).
Hi. Manolo. I think I love you. From the bride: He and our 2 pups were outside and he had 2 glasses of wine which only had 2 sips in each because I drank a glass earlier! Haha! If I had known I wouldn't have drank it! One of my pups Sadie who happens to be obsessed with socks, brought over a sock to me, which happens all the time and most of the time they happen to be dirty!
From the bride: So I was reluctant to take it from her but, when I did I realized it was heavy and took the ring box out of the sock, he then got on one knee and proposed and I of course said "yes?".... I was shocked I wasn't sure if this was really happening.
Michelle's dress is just STUNNING!!!From the bride: It was the not the perfect proposal, but I loved it and wouldn't change anything about it! It was so Seung, spontaneous and not planned to thoroughly! Lol. Definitely a moment to remember.
Unity candle? Nah. Sand cermony? Nope. How about we both drink from a coconut? PERFECT!What an amazingly passionate kiss.

Fantasy Friday ~ A Hawaiian Wedding Paradise

As I sit at my desk eating M&Ms like somebody is going to take them away from me, surrounded by files for upcoming weddings and blasting Pandora, I find myself daydreaming about Amy and Billy’s wedding. Seriously, there is so much I have to do (and should be doing NOW instead of later), but all I can think about is how captivating these photographs are that I had to stop what I was doing and write about it this second! I mean, there are so many unique details which Amy and Billy did themselves that I could totally cry. And maybe I want to cry because I wish had it in me to grow (and not kill) succulents and make the pots like they did, or because the lace heart in the Amy’s wedding dress was from her mother's dress, or maybe I’m just feeling emotional… But, whatever the case may be, it’s clear that this is an extremely special wedding.

Amy and Billy are special education teachers with hearts of gold. Outside of how FAB they are, the details are pretty kickass!! From the elegant outdoor ceremony, to the extraordinary tented reception and all of cool particulars in-between, there is so much eye candy that I want to fucking eat it! True story… Anyway, bridey, I’ll stop gushing so that you can start scrolling and filling up on some serious inspiration.

What an absolutely stunning gown!!I love love love this ring shot. Billy's ring is super unique too!The first look pics get me every time! The lace around the bouquet is also from her mom's wedding dress...STUN NING. So simple and so stunning...Anybody need to cool off before the ceremony?

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Warm Hawaiian Beaches, Orange Lilies and a Stunning Couple!

We all need a little romance in our lives, right? Right! Especially when it comes to a proposal! I mean, at the very least it’s got to start with the proposal!! And, if you’re anything like me, then a great proposal story always gets your heart swelling! My eyes swell with tears, I get goose bumps… Yeah, I’m definitely one of those girls! Anyway, take Nick for instance… Nick proposed to Wendy on a gondola in Coronado Cays and then took her to dinner at the Loew’s Resort to celebrate! Pretty fucking cool! But, the best part? Nick didn’t hear Wendy when she said “yes”, so she had to raise her voice and practically yelled “yes” to Nick’s proposal! LOVE IT!

Bridey, wanna know a super cool thing that Wendy did for Nick? She had suspected that an engagement was imminent so she had an engagement present for him ready just in case! Could ya’ bust? How awesome is that!!?? Even cooler? Check this out! Wendy got Nick something he’d been talking about his entire life! A one day pass to a race car driving school at Skip Barber. FAB U LOUS! And I know because my husband did this for me about four years ago!

Anyway, enjoy all of the lovely little details of this Hawaiian wedding. It’s super colorful and delicious!

Simply stunning. So sweet...I love how colorful the bridesmaids and groomsmen are! I love that Wendy chose two different colors to work with! When I saw this pic, my eyes started welling. Can you feel it?

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Can You Feel the Love Tonight?

Nothing I could possibly say about Andi and Matt's romance could match what the bride has said herself. So, you know what? I'm not going to try. Here is the love story brought to you by the lovely bride herself.

Take it away Andi! "I was working at the Screen Actor's Guild and my co-worker Marcus and I ditched work at noon on St. Patrick's day to hit up the bars on Fairfax in LA. Marcus lived down the street so at the end of the evening we ended up at a place called the Little Bar which was across the street from his house. (it's actually a super cute Boston themed bar) He invited his new roommate to come hang out with us and it turns out that it happened to be Matt. We immediately hit it off and started discussing our love of all things nerdy (comic con, Joss Whedon, Harry Potter, etc). We ended up going on a date and that was that.

Over the next three years we moved from LA to NY. Matt went back to school for nursing and I ended up taking a job that moved me to Boston and then transferred me back to LA. Last October, Matt drove up to see me in Boston and we took a day trip up to Salem. I LOVE Salem. Especially during October, when the town goes bat-shit crazy for Halloween and everything is decorated. My favorite holiday movie is Hocus Pocus, and every Saturday in October, they show it outside in the Salem Common. We were walking along the water that afternoon and he just pulled me aside and asked me to marry him. I'm sure I said yes, though I don't remember much of anything other than the large ring staring at me."

That dress is stunning! And that backdrop ain't so bad either!I feel like the groom always get neglected when it comes to getting ready shots, and frankly, I find Matt to be too adorable NOT to include him!Andi... WHOA!!!! Holy shit! You look FABU!!!Go ahead... Pin it.C'mon! I wept through these pictures. Honestly, I did!! Sniff... Sniff...

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ St. Patrick's Day Meets Hawaii with a Little Rome

Sammy and Tom met in Italy seven years ago in Rome on St. Patrick’s Day. I mean… That’s pretty fucking cool, right? Seriously, I have no words to describe just how cool that is. AND, they met on a pub-crawl. Who meets on a pub-crawl and gets married? Aren’t those usually a sloppy mess of a time… all be it a fun time, but usually not the best circumstance to meet and marry. Right? And I thought I was cool because I met my hus in a bar, married him in Vegas and we still love each other, but Sammy and Tom? Totally got me beat!

Their dates were strewn between Naples (Italy) where Tom was stationed (in the Navy), and Rome… not too shabby! Ultimately, the made it stateside, and better yet, in Hawaii! Considering that they met on St. Patrick’s Day, the two decided to marry seven years to the day they met sporting a whole lot of green, and a whole lot of love…

I love these robes. I mean, they are super Hawaiian, and super cute!! (And makes for quite a photo op!)

Adorable. Adorable headpiece. Can you feel it? The Hawaiian air? What an amazingly intimate and lovely spot for a ceremony...Love the Rolls!!! And Sammy kissing her Dad? Priceless.I love this shot. Now... Look down...
