Multicultural Wedding

A Unicorn Disguised as a Bride, Some Superhero Puddle Jumping, and a Whole Lot of Weddingy Awesomeness!!

Bridey, I don't care what people say about luck + rain on your wedding day, because you know what? It sucks. It sucks logistically, it sucks organizationally, and it sucks frizzily (I'm pretty sure I made that word up)... But, people feel like they have to say that to make the B+G feel better about a sucky situation. Right? And as a wedding planner, I'm the one dealing with the logistics, the reorganization and rockin' some seriously big hair. Anyway... I have to say, Marianna + Kyle are total rebels, and used it to their advantage. I mean... Just look at that gorgeous pic!! These two crazy cats were jumping around in the puddles and loving every second! And, obvi, I'm completely obsessed with her FABULOUS pink hair!!!

Know what I love? I love that Marianna will tell you she's really a unicorn. I will tell you she's really a badass. But, actually, I think she's really a unicorn disguised as a bride and I find her magical... Marianna said that, "People used to tell me I would never get married with pink hair and a nose ring, but now I am married to my best friend." WTF?? Why do people say that shit? And, more importantly, why do we believe it? We shouldn't! And, thankfully, Marianna didn't believe that shit, and married a cool guy who clearly (based on the amazing pics below), gets her. Bridey, you are who you are, you'll marry who you marry, and your wedding will be amazing. PERIOD. Now, go... Get inspired!!! Two words: DONUT CAKE.

A Beautiful Wedding, Brewing with Fantastic Color and Tons of Fun!!!

g1qghcctwbvvqgqgh324_low.jpg

Funnest.wedding.ever. I was seriously considering not writing anything else other than those three words because as you scroll down the page, bridey, you will absolutely see why there's not a whole lot more I can say about Natalie + Alex's wedding that you won't see for yourself. First of all, they got married at a brewery! Fucking awesome, right? I mean, in my book, that's always a good move! But, more than that, look up. See that FAB picture of the bridal party? Nothing but smiles and fun... That is why I decided to open this post with this particular pic because it totally captures the feel of the entire day. Fun! The way weddings should be! A celebration!!

Bridey, aside from the spectacular decision to get married at a beautiful brewery with amazing grounds, N+A ROCKED some seriously orangetastic color without being overdone and displaying too many "pops of color". It's a fine line, and they did it so well. And, can we just talk about the GORGEOUS wedding dress Natalie wore like a glove? It's truly stunning, just like her. Anyway, I'm going to stop typing so that you can start scrolling for piles and piles of inspiration. Enjoy!

A Beautiful Summer Wedding Rockin' a L'il Bit of Star Wars and a Lot of Love!

I love this wedding. I know I say that a lot on Bitchless Bride, but Ying + Kevin's wedding is just so lovely! It's a perfect mix of elegant and fun. As you scroll down, bridey, you'll clearly see that a lot of thought went into all of the details, and yet it's not overdone or over-themed. The B+G love Star Wars and incorporated this angle gently into their wedding day; something that is hard to do, but was done well. And, OMG! Just wait until you see the incredible flowers at the altar! Holy shit they are amazing!

Ying + Kevin met at the University of Alberta while completing their masters program. And while they moved to the US after graduation, they decided to get married back in Canada where Kevin is from originally. Bridey, I know you're going to enjoy this beautifully romantic and simply elegant wedding!

Look how stunning and luscious those flowers are!!

I mean... Holy shit. This is a truly stunning arch...

Kevin! I love how you're looking at Ying! I'm gonna need a tissue!

I can't with the flowers... Totally exquisite bouquet!!

I love how they're totally giggling!!

It really doesn't get much sweeter.... Right?

I love the B+G's take on Star Wars!!

Thank you Ying and Kevin for sharing your beautiful wedding day with Bitchless Bride!!

When a Rockette Gets Married... A Sensational Choreographed Dance, Lots of Legs and Plenty of Sparkle!

First of all... Look at Alina's silver, sequined and sparkly wedding dress! Isn't it stunning? Like show-stoppingly beautiful ? Although I'd expect nothing less from a Radio City Rockette! Right? Gotta have tons of sparkle and break the white wedding dress tradition! And, that's just the first wedding dress of the evening! Anyway... Alina and Geoff met and fell in love in NYC, and decided to have a destination wedding in the fabulous Nashville.

Bridey, the details encapsulated in this wedding are completely astonishing! Like... So fucking good that I truly love every single detail. Considering that I have been in a serious glitter/glam place these days, A+G's wedding does not disappoint! Even with a slight hiccup which could have been catastrophic (scroll down to see), this B+G continued to have an amazing day! Enjoy this wedding! It's absolutely exquisite!

That's Alina's wedding dress number two! Love the color and the cut!

Love this shot... Amazing train and am completely dying over the shoes!

Seriously, could they get any cuter?! Actually, they can! Keep going...

Hey girl! Bring it! Love your Statue of Liberty...

Gorgeous bouquet! OMG!

OMFG. WOW! That is a beautiful chuppah! I am completely obsessed with the chandelier and the stunning draping!

Flowers + feathers = AWESOME!

Wait... Wait... Wait... The chuppah is falling down!

Yikes! Thank goodness for friends and family! This is a big deal, bridey, and like I said, shit will go wrong on your wedding day... But, luckily it all worked out(ish)! And, the B+G didn't let it put a damper on the day!

Seriously, LOVE that train!

Such a great photograph!!

A Gorgeous Vineyard Wedding Complete with a Tea Ceremony, Choreographed Bridal Party Dance, The Best Bridal Shoes Ever, and Lots of Fun!

Bridey, I can preach about how important lighting is for your wedding until I am blue in the face, but just looking at this photograph should "sell" you. Amazing, right? And the design on the dance floor that the chandelier is making? Fucking fantastic!! WOW! Anyway, I am going to give the floor (no pun, I swear!!) to Stephanie, our beautiful bride. She is going to share their seriously incredible proposal story with you throughout the post, and in between, I am going to share tid bits about the wedding! Enjoy!!

StephanieWell, being the know-it-all woman that I am, I was absolutely convinced Stephen would propose at one of two times: during our 5 week vacation to Europe or after finishing his residency/fellowship. Now I am definitely not one to snoop :), however, I am one to pay very close attention when “assessing” my surroundings. For months, as any one of my friends can tell you, I had been hoping Stephen would ask The Question. But there were absolutely no signs at all! He was not acting funny, he was not asking weird or obvious questions, there were no receipts, business cards, NADA! Still I had thoughts Stephen would propose in Europe, but each day gourmet dinners, romantic walks, gorgeous settings and “perfect times” came and went, with no question being asked.

See what I mean?! BEST.BRIDAL.SHOES.EVER!

Stephanie: Needless to say, after returning home my belief that he was waiting to finish his training solidified. The day before we flew home for Christmas my sister came to visit because “she needed a break.” Uh huh. She wanted to get her nails done, get dressed up and go shopping so she could have an “adult day” without the kids. So here I am thinking I am doing something so great for my sister! Yeah, that wasn’t exactly reality. We spent the day out on town with our manicured nails and trendy outfits.

Love this pic with Stephanie + her besties!!

StephanieWhen we got home I open my front door to find that Stephen and my best friend, Yuri, had spent the last 12 hours decorating the entire house in gorgeous Christmas decoration straight out of a magazine! Stephen and I had previously decided not to decorate for Christmas because we were only home for a few days before flying to Northern California for the holidays. But he knows me so much better than that! Christmas is quite literally my favorite time of year and I love me some glitter, sparkles and Christmas decor :).

A beautiful tea ceremony...

StephanieStephen then handed me a beautifully wrapped gift box stating this was my Christmas present. Just as a side note, Stephen and I also had previously decided that we were not going to spend more than $20 on each other for Christmas, and yeah, he broke a lot of rules! When I opened the box it was filled with several clear ornaments that open. Stephen stated that each year we will place a memorable keepsake in one of ornaments for that year. And there was one already on the tree for me this year! Yay! With my great “assessing” skills I quickly found this year’s ornament. I sat down to open the white box inside this year’s ornament with little expectations given the shocked state I was in. But what was inside I did not expect at all………NOTHING.Yep, nothing.

Damn, girl! You look absolutely stunning!!! Bridey, know what's cool? Stephanie did TWO first looks! One with her bridesmaids... They hadn't seen her wedding dress. Only her mom, sister and her best friend were helping her get ready. Isn't that FAB?!!

STFU with the shoes!!!

StephanieAs I looked up from the empty box, a little confused, I saw the man of my dreams on one knee with the most beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever seen in his hands. I couldn’t breathe, talk (I know it seems impossible, but no I really couldn’t talk!) or move. As this amazing man continued to tell me how we should spend the rest of our lives together all I could think was, “I must be dreaming, there is no way Stephen could pull this off without me knowing!” But he did, and it was the best night of my life thus far.

The bouquet Stephen is holding? Made by her one of her bridesmaids!!!

Totally love that Stephen is checking out her backside!

StephanieAfter the proposal, Stephen continued to surprise me. Saying we had dinner reservations I followed him to where he had planned a surprise party with all of our friends and my sister. We celebrated all night, then left the next morning to continue the celebration with our families for the holidays, which has now become known as the Engagement Tour:) I am so very blessed and just want to say thank you Stephen, Candace, Yuri and all of our friends who helped make that night literally the best night of my life!

How beautiful is that ceremony space?! OMG!

Love this shot!!!

Um. WOW!!!!

I cannot get enough of this décor! I am doing something similar with one of my brides, and I swear... Sequins speak to me!!

I seriously want to slide down that cupcake tree!

Marchione_Au_Kirstin_Burrows_Photography_PalmEventCenterWedding67_low.jpg

STFU! Look at Stephanie's hair! So GORGE!

Yup! They had somebody painting the scenes at their wedding! So cool!

Stephanie’s father had a contract drawn up for Stephen to take over all of Stephanie’s debt... LOL! He shared this during his toast!

I really don't even have the words... No, seriously! How amazing is this!?

Best final photograph in a Bitchless Bride post ever! Can you imagine? I want to dive into that pic and have my way with that plate! Anyway... A GIANT thank you to Stephanie and Stephen for sharing their beautiful and fun wedding with BB!!

An Amazing Westminster Wedding That's Super Cool, Super Energetic and Super Cray!

Seriously bridey, I don't even know where to begin with Sarah and Will's FAB wedding... Like, there are so many cool details and incredible energy that it's kinda hard to put what I am feeling into words. It all starts with a beautiful tea ceremony, and ends with a fucking kickass party and a RuPaul inspired walk off... I mean, how could I possibly that into words?

I will say that I am completely obsessed with Sarah's lipstick. I have a total love affair with lipstick, and the fact that Sarah's rocking dark lips (and dark, pointy nails), is awesome! Really, I just love everything about this wedding! The lighting, the cake (holy shit with the cake, and the "creatures" on top) and the insane dancing make me so happy! I love when a B+G truly make their wedding day about their favorite people and what make them, them. Enjoy!

Could they get any cuter?

Love Sarah's reaction here...

This is a great shot!

S.E.X.Y.

Check out that bouquet!! LOVE IT!

Damn girl. You're 100% owning this bride thing...

Sounds so cheesy, but I love all of the hand holding.

Such a great group shot!

Taxidermy creatures... Now, look down! STFU with this AMAZING cake!!!

I mean, you gotta cut the cake with a sword!

Not quite sure what is happening here, but I fucking love it!

A Laid-Back and Lavish Beach Party Wedding with the Coolest "Cake" I've Ever Seen!

Judging solely on the shoes, you can already tell that the B+G are pretty laid-back and pretty cool, right? Right! And, because we already know how cool these two are, I bet it wouldn't surprise you if I told you that Kimberly and Thomas' families are close friends, would it? Because, that's pretty fucking fabulous, right? Aaaaanddd.... as if that wasn't awesome enough, all the B+G really wanted on their wedding day was for their family and friends to have a good time; a big party! I mean... They even hired Mike Freas, the photographer, because, "...we really enjoyed your personality and we had a feeling that if you were just hanging at our wedding as 'a friend', that you would totally fit in."

It was a difficult task, but Kimberly and Thomas meticulously weeded their guest list down from 300 so that could have only their "closest people" attend the wedding. LOVE IT! Aside from their FAB story, there are some gorgeous deets to inspire you as you plan your own wedding, bridey. Oh! And, OMG... Just wait until you see their "cake"!! Enjoy!

STUNNING dress. It's even better on the bride!!

Love the shoes and the bouquet!

I love that the B+G invited the president to their wedding!!

Love the hair. Love the makeup. Love the bouquet. Obsessed with the dress.

That's "Pops", Thomas' father, and apparently, the life of the party.

I want to hug Thomas too!! Amazing reaction to seeing Kimberly!

So so so cute! Nice cleave too, Kimberly! You're 100% OWNING that wedding dress!Beautiful shot.

STFU with that dress!! I may be a l'il obsessed!

Such a lovely, passionate kiss!

How cool is this venue!!???

I love how Thomas rolled up his sleeves!

Meanwhile...

So, what do you think of the B+G's cake? HE'S ROLLING IT!!!! Look down!

Shut the FUCK up! That's gorgeous! That's amazing! That's all of my favorite adjectives combined!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Cozy, Intimate, Beach Wedding in Tulum Mexico

I have to admit, normally I would never open a post with a group shot. Because, if I'm honest? I find them a wee bit boring and staged. But, this one? Definitely not the case! Seriously... Can you imagine being in this pic? I mean, it's clear that everybody is already having a great time, and thrilled to be celebrating with Farina and Dan in Tulum, Mexico. Talk about a FAB destination for a wedding!! And, how cool is it that the rose petals are flying in the air and guests have drinks in their hands? Now, that's the way to do it, bridey!

Okay, so at the risk of sounding hokey, this wedding 100% what getting married is all about. There's a deep tenderness and an intimacy captured throughout that truly has me on the verge of tears. Farina and Dan are surrounded by a small crowd, on a beautiful day, rocked some seriously sensational décor, and their guests definitely are having a lot of fun. It really doesn't get better than that, right? Enjoy!

Totally LOVE Farina and Dan's invitation!

Farina... OMFG! You are STUN NING! Like amazingly gorgeous in that silk gown!!

Whoa....

Dan was waiting impatiently for his bride to present herself on the beach... I mean...

I'm such a sucker for the hand on the face kiss or embrace.

Hello beautiful beach! What a FAB place for a ceremony!

Farina! I'm pretty sure that's the exact face I would be making as I walked down the aisle!!

<3!!!

Such an incredible Mayan ceremony!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Beautiful Vietnamese Wedding in San Diego's Japanese Friendship Garden

The red, ornate dress, the beautiful toes and the purple laces... Oh my!!! Right? Bridey, just wait until you scroll down and see the full view of this fucking A MAZ ING dress. It's so stunningly magnificent that I cannot stop looking at all of the splendid detail! Anyway, the bride, Vi, is dressed in traditional Vietnamese ao dai, and she and Richard married in the lovely San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden. This wedding really has it all... Exquisite gowns (yes, gowns), beautiful grounds, a koi pond, a dog and much, much more!

I love the way Vi and Richard tied their lives into the centerpieces, and made each and every guest feel valuable and loved simply by their escort cards. Bridey, if you're looking for cool ways to differentiate your wedding, take a cue from Vi and Richard. Enjoy!

I love the emotion eminating from these photographs! I can tell from the back of Richard's head that he has a huge grin on his face!

I'm a little obsessed with the bouquet Vi is holding. Great color and texture!

Koi pond!

See how all of the 'maids dresses are different? LOVE IT!

GORGE.

Such a great pic!

Gotta have your pup walk you down the aisle!

A ceremony full of love and laughter!

Yay!!!!

Costume change... WOW Vi! You look amazing!

What an incredible idea for escort cards!!! WOW!

Notice how Richard's feet are off of the ground? I love it!

I love how the B+G incorporated their litle bits of their lives into the centerpieces.

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Phillipa & Anurag's Hindu Wedding... Day 2

Here we go again, bridey! I am absolutely thrilled to share Day 2 of Phillipa & Anurag's wedding with you! In February, I shared their Western wedding with you, and today, it's time for you to drool over the stunning photographs, taken by the amazing Hilary Cam, of their Hindu wedding celebration. Seriously, you will be drooling, because it's filled with piles and piles of dynamic colors and energy, and truly incredible details!

OMG! Just wait until you see Phillipa and her 'maids in their super colorful lengha and saris. They are so absolutely stunning that you're gonna freak out! And, don't forget to check out their jewels and henna! I mean... Holy shit with the jewelry! Anyway... I'll let you get to it! Enjoy!!!
Amazing henna. Just gorgeous!Phillipa, you look beautiful.Nice sharanis boys!! You look great!!Wow! Check them out! Woot! Woot!Apparently, they tried to sneak up on Anurag for the first look, but the jingling bells and bracelets gave her away! Anurag still looked shocked and surprised when he saw Phillipa in traditional Indian outfit. Uh... Nice Rolls! Bring on the Baraat!!Yeah, look up! The girls are rockin' Gangnam style! Look down! The boys are giving it right back! An impromptu dance off in the street between the bridesmaids and the groomsmen started when Gangnam Style started playing! Oh YEAH!!Then everybody started dancing! Super fun!!Love. Love. Love.

Fantasy Friday ~ Pumpkins, Apples and Dragons... Oh My! A Stunning, British Columbian Fall Wedding

Bridey, I totally cracked up when I received this wedding submission! Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful wedding with a ton of fantastic décor and color (I mean, there's a dragon for God's sake!). But, the very talented photographer, Will Pursell, opened his dialogue with, "Leanne and Andrew love Halloween, zombies, scary things, alcoholic things... and animals." Funny, right? I mean, who doesn't love alcoholic things and zombies? I do! I do!! And just wait until you see the photographs of the animals!

Anyway, you read that right... I said dragon. Leanne and Andrew did an amazing job incorporating their heritage into their wedding. Leanne is Chinese and Andrew is Greek, and throughout the day, they celebrated both as their families came together as one. Okay, that's about as mushy as I get! Just enjoy this fun-filled, fall wedding complete with a kickass dragon!!

Any guesses as to the wedding colors? Love the flasks! I'll take whatever is inside...It really doesn't get much cuter than that, right?Leanne and Andrew are huge animal lovers. I love how the kitty is just hanging out on her dress! They were married at the Unitarian Church in Vancouver.Every time I see this pic, I keep thinking the guests are throwing petals at the B+G! But, it's just the altar flowers.Whoa.HA! Love it!Bridey, if your groom isn't looking at you like this, then it ain't meant to be...I just had a baby heart attack. Please don't fall... Amazing shot of the cityscape and the Vancouver mountains!Totally lovin' the fall décor! It's festive and fun!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ When a Handsome Englishman Falls for a Jersey Girl

If he's from England and she's from New Jersey, then how did they come to be? Well, Debbie and Adam met while working abroad in Switzerland, and haven't looked back since. I mean... Talk about making a long distance relationship work, right? They had the Atlantic Ocean between them, and their love only grew (sorry for the sappy crap, but it's true!). Fast forward to their wedding day, and apparently these two couldn't take their eyes off of each other!

Outside of the B+G's obvious adoration for each other, it's absolutely clear that they (and their friends) have a ton of fun together. Seriously, it's been a long time since I've seen a beer funnel, and while I certainly didn't expect to see one tucked within these beautiful wedding pics, I definitely got a chuckle when I saw what was fueling the fun!
