Same-Sex Wedding

It All Started Because of a "Sarcastic, Tattooed Lady Who Loves Cheesy Horror Movies"

Skeeters_Palodichuk_JosephDixPhotography_RandallMichellePortraits29_low.jpg

Bridey, I truly hope you met your sig other because you were honest about who you are (and because you're a kind person, and super attracted to each other, obvi!). That's how Randall and Michelle met; because Michelle described herself as a "sarcastic, tattooed lady who loves cheesy horror movies..." on her dating profile, and was a "match" for Randall. And the rest? Well, you're about to scroll pics from their wedding day, so clearly it worked out well! I mean, you can 100% feel the emotion and devotion enveloped in this photograph, and frankly, I struggled to choose just ONE of these tender pics as the post opener...

Personally, I would have described myself as a "funny girl who exercises to support her cake-eating habit, and loves to dance (sometimes badly)". But, that's just me... Anyway, R+M wanted a very simple wedding that combined modern rustic with industrial, and that is exactly what they accomplished. Sooooo... they selected Highland Brewing Company because they loved the new event and rooftop spaces, and had a friend master the design and décor. Bridey, there is a ton of inspiration in this post, but my favorite tip from Randall? "Don't sweat the small stuff! Every couple will face a hiccup on their wedding day, but trust me, you'll laugh about it later." #TRUESTORY

AMEN.

This is some serious dessert porn. Like SERIOUS. And, as a self-described cake (over)eater, OMFG! Throw in some donuts, and I'm going to need a moment alone...

Michelle changed out of her military uniform into a wedding dress for the reception. Can you believe that Randall's dress is borrowed from her cousin because she loved the style?!!!

Skeeters_Palodichuk_JosephDixPhotography_RandallMichelleReception103_low.jpg

I am obsessed with all of the fantastic shoe selections!!

When asked about the most anticipated or special moment of their wedding day, Randall said, "Our first dance. I think we both underestimated our ability to learn a choreographed dance, but it was a special moment when we felt like the only 2 people in the room. Despite our dresses getting stuck together, hindering our ability to pull off the "big dip" at the end of our dance, it was truly an unforgettable experience for the two of us."

And another pic I almost opened the post with...

An Elegant, 'Tacolicious', San Francisco Wedding Filled with Family, Fun and a Furbaby!

Kemper_Sellers_RedEyeCollection_AM275_low.jpg

Bridey, how cool is that photograph? Right? Definitely a side of the Golden Gate Bridge you don't see very often! Although, I can't say I'm too surprised that Malorie + Ashley found a corner of something already so extraordinary, and made it even more exceptional... I mean, these two had TACOS at their wedding, which leads me to believe that anything is possible! TACOS! Yes, TACOS! And, on top of that, they served homemade banana pudding and whoopie pies! OMFG, if only I could have been there! But, these pics are so FAB that it totally feels like I was there (well, minus the fact that my stomach is growling!), and you will too!

The story? Well, Malorie + Ashley met at American University in DC, but the romance didn't begin until Malorie graduated and left the area (isn't that always the way?). Once they realized that what they had was well beyond friendship, they followed each other across the country. Awwww.... Sniff... Sniff... Anyway, I love their story (keep scrolling for more deets), I love their super chill and elegant vibe, and I love how they love each other. Enjoy!!

Are you dying over those bouquets? The dresses? RIGHT? Totally gorgeous!

From the bridesOur actual ceremony took place at City Hall. That was the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding day. The ceremony was on the 4th floor balcony with a handful of family and a gorgeous backdrop.

Bridey, you know I am such a sucker for a good "look", right? And, this pic is no different... I LOVE it when we catch a glimpse into a relationship simply by a captured moment. So powerful!

From the brides: We have a French Bulldog named Frannie who we are obsessed with and treat like a child, so we knew that we needed to find room in our day to include her. After our ceremony at City Hall, one of our best friends arrived on the building steps with Frannie who was dolled up in a special bowtie for the occasion! We were able to snap a few photos with our furbaby before continuing on to the reception.

From the bridesAfter the ceremony, we surprised our friends and family with a trolley tour of the city. We drove around the Embarcadero and through Fisherman's Wharf, then made a stop at Fort Point for incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and breaching whales. Most of our family hadn't been to San Francisco before, so this was the perfect "2-hour tour" to share the highlights with them.

From the brides: When we started planning our wedding, we fell in love with one venue only to find out that a construction project was scheduled for our wedding month. So we went back to the drawing board. Eventually, we found the perfect spot at the SF Film Centre in the Presidio. We knew we wanted a beautiful location that showcased an iconic part of the city and this checked all of our boxes.

From the bridesWe LOVE tacos! And Tacolicious is one of our favorite spots in the city. Their catering is out of this world, and their event coordinator Brielle Gordon was incredible.

From the bridesWearing fancy heels for the wedding was fine and all, but we also wanted to be able to boogie on the dance floor at our reception. We had matching custom Chuck Taylor sneakers printed with our wedding logo so we could change into those after all the formality was complete.

An Insanely Colorful, Beautifully Unique Celestial Wedding

nabjocf8prm1774nr446_low.jpg

It's not often that you get a confetti shot that's this good. No really, we all hope for the best when we pull the trigger on a confetti cannon, but usually they're touch and go at best. But, for Billy + Tony? Absolutely perfect! I mean... Even the photog said the guests were surprised at how well they worked! But, seriously, just look at that pic! That one picture completely encompasses pure joy (and surprise). Although the depth of their love is no surprise at all... B+T? Well, they tied the knot after thirteen years together!

What I love most about this wedding? Well, aside from the awesome celestial theme strewn throughout? My favorite part is that it's clear that every.single.person in the room is absolutely thrilled to be present. They are celebrating the union of two people who have loved each other for thirteen years, and who are clearly meant to be. And that is totally worth celebrating! Enjoy this celestially awesome wedding! I totally did!

Billy and Tony gave their grooms-girls Alex & Ani bracelets with charms of their astrological sign, and the men got cuff links with their astrological sign. I mean... SO FAB!!

Yeah... That's their constellation seating chart! LOVE IT!

Holy fucking confetti! I would absolutely love to have a confetti party!

I seriously love this cake. So simple, and so cool....

Look at how Billy and Tony are looking at each other! I'm such a sucker for "the look"!

Gotta love the cake battle!

A giant thank you to Billy and Tony for sharing their celestially awesome wedding with Bitchless Bride!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Fabulously Gorgeous, Waikiki Hawaii Wedding

I love a good story about sig others meeting when there's booze involved. Perhaps it's because I met my sig other in a bar (def a lot of booze involved), and we are still going strong! And the cool thing about Lancer (TOTALLY love that name!!) and Eddie? Yes, they met during a booze-filled celebration walking down St. Ann Street in New Orleans (in front of the Bourbon Pub), but, they kinda knew each other. Well, they had heard of each other over the years through their friends, but hadn't met in person. And, when they finally did meet, sparks flew! How fucking FAB is that? Lancer (still dying over how awes that name is!) says it best, so I'll let him tell you the story in his own words.

From the Groom: So all of my friends already knew Eddie. He was managing the Planet Hollywood hotel in Las Vegas and all of my friends would go to Vegas and he would hook them up. I was supposed to go once, but something else came up, so I never met him and only heard of this Vegas Eddie. So, in March of 2010 I went to New Orleans for my friend's Bachelor/Bachelorette Party. We arrived on Friday, March 19th and started drinking early. We were walking down Bourbon Street and turned the corner at St. Ann when Eddie came around the corner. Everyone I was with knew Eddie and saw him and yelled "Eddie!!". So, I met Eddie for the first time in front of the Bourbon Pub. I just thought he was so handsome. I have a thing for gray hair.

We met and hit it off right away. Later that night...ok, within 5 minutes... I was coming onto him. Our friend pulled out his phone and started recording me hit on Eddie. We have our first kiss recorded and our friend in the background said "wouldn't it be wild if they ended up together". Eddie was just stopping for the night in New Orleans on his way back to Atlanta, but ended up staying the whole weekend and came with us to all the weekend party events. He was living in Atlanta at the time and we ended up taking a few trips to get to know each other. We met in Vegas for a weekend and Boston for a weekend. Eddie then got a job in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. He was planning to go for a year, but the job was not what he wanted, so he moved back to Houston, where I was. He was planning to move in with his sister, her husband, 2 kids and their mom until he figured out his next move. I was excited to see him again and suggested that he move in with me since I was living alone in a 4-bedroom house. He didn't want to be a bother or move too fast, but I insisted.Everything was great after that. So, the proposal was not that exciting. No random flash mobs or hot balloons involved. We already bought matching rings.\In December 2012, we went on a cruise. While sitting at The Red Frog Pub on the Carnival Magic, we were talking about names. I said that boyfriend seems too juvenile, partner seems too professional, and husband is not accurate until we get married. Eddie took off my ring and said, let's get married, and put it back on my finger. I said yes, so now we can be called finances. We didn't pick a date or start planning until earlier this year. One of my FAVE pics ever!!
