The Truth Hurts Tuesday ~ Five Ways to Avoid Being a Micromanager on Your Wedding Day

Bridey, I can handle a lot of things, but the one thing I cannot stand is to be micromanaged. Period. So, please don’t micromanage me. And please don’t micromanage your vendors. The funny thing is that I’m not talking about now; the wedding planning process. I’m talking about on your wedding day. Seriously, don’t you have enough on your mind? Like, oh, I don’t know… your wedding vows, your reception and how basically every single person you love will be in the same room at the same time… That’s a big deal, bridey. HUGE actually, and I hate to say it, but that will most likely only happen one other time in your life. Yeah, I’ll let you figure that one out yourself.

As I was saying, this is our job. We, your vendors, do this most every weekend throughout the year (more or less), and hopefully you will only do this once. And when you take a step back, who has more experience? I’ll give you a hint, it ain’t you babe! So, please, just enjoy your wedding day because not only do you deserve to be utterly happy, but we have worked incredibly hard making it happen for you.

Look, I know that it’s easier said than done, so I thought I would give you a few pointers on how to prevent your bridey ass from turning into a micromanager on your wedding day:

1. I know this is simple, but just resist the urge to micromanage. Every time you feel it bubbling up, think about the big picture and all of the professionals you have hired to do their jobs. Bridey, you are not on the clock today. You should literally just sit there looking pretty and enjoying yourself.

2. Remember how I said that you hired professionals? Well bridey, give yourself a round of applause because there is a reason why you hired WHO you hired, right? So let go of all your Type A mannerisms and allow said professionals to do the job you hired them to do.

3. On that note, let them (your vendors) do their job their way. Perhaps you’ve dabbled in photography or were an MC in college. That’s great, but please don’t begin suggesting amazing shots that your photographer just “has to take” or making turntable recommendations to your DJ. They’ll figure it out! They always do. Bridey, unless there is something specific that you forgot to communicate to one of your vendors or the venue prior to your wedding, ease off and just relax!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Beautifully Modern, Fabulously Elegant Canadian Wedding

I'm beginning to think that a G&T might be necessary considering that I chose this pic to introduce this FAB wedding. What do you think? I mean, not that this photograph isn't lovely with the crisp, white florals or bronze frame, and that a signature drink is always a good idea, but... If you scroll down, you will see several beautiful photographs that could have easily opened up this post! Anyway, bridey, see what a small little sign can do? It literally just made my mouth water for some gin, but it's also a great way of suggesting that your guests partake in some of your favorite booze.

All of that being said, with the help of some awesome vendors, Ashely and Phil put together a really beautiful wedding. I love the silver and white color palette combined with several DIY aspects (wait until you see the candy bar!) which together, makes for some serious inspiration. Bridey, if you're thinking about going in this direction, I suggest you bookmark Ashley and Phil's wedding!
I love these getting ready shots of Phil! Those socks are awesome!!I wish that all brides and her maids would be this laid back on the wedding day! Want to play a hand?So cute! It's only Ashley and her MOH which makes this pic extra special.Totally LOVE how they went to the florist to get their bouquets!See what I mean? TOTALLY could have opened with this pic!!! It's KICKASS!!Beautiful girls, beautiful flowers and beautiful dresses!I cannot put into words how much I love this look...

My Very Own Fantasy… Wedding!

Welcome to BB’s very first Fantasy Friday! Fantasy Friday is anything we want it to be! It can be about the dream wedding, a mystical honeymoon, intense sex with an ex, or even just a day of complete pampering. However, because Bitchless Bride is a blog all about weddings, attitude and perspective, I thought I’d share my idea of a fantasy wedding with you.

Brideys, if you didn’t already know, my husband and I ran off to Las Vegas and eloped. It was romantic, fun, awesome and fucking crazy all at the same time! And although I don’t have any regrets and wouldn’t change it for the world, if I were to plan my wedding now, fantasy style, here is what BB's wedding fantasy would look like…

Let’s start with the wedding dress, or two… I would proudly walk down the aisle, tightly clinging to my father’s arm, rocking this amazingly hot pink Max Chaoul dress (minus the fur). I don't think anybody could miss us as we suddenly appeared at the top of the aisle because I would be rockin' that pink dress and my dad would be wearing a black tux with the pink wig he wore in the his Bitchless Bride Video.

As we make our way towards the altar, I can feel the sun on my face, see palm trees waving as a slight breeze rolls in, and sense the warmth from our guests because in this fantasy… there are no obligatory invites…
