Real Wedding Wednesday ~ How About Some Grand Rapids Glitter & A Tree House Wedding?

Alicia and Curtis. Seriously, bridey, can't you tell just by looking at them that they are super fun and probably rock some stellar personalities? I can... Well, that's because I cheated. You see, I've already seen all of the photographs and therefore I know that the B+G and the bridal party stopped at Founders Brewery in-between church and photographs. And in my experience, stopping at a bar usually equates to a bit of debauchery and some FAB photos! That's how I know that Alicia and Curtis are super fun, and their wedding is clearly an extension of their personalities!

Anyway, Alicia and Curtis’s Grand Rapids wedding started in the gorgeous Catholic Church, Saint Peter and Paul. And OMG, just wait until you see Alicia walking down the aisle with her father. It is absolutely sensational, breathtaking actually. Just taking in Alicia's lace wedding gown, her perfectly sculpted backside (true story) and the grandness of the church... Holy moly. I mean... It's truly incredible! So, to recap... Following their stunning ceremony, cocktails for all of the maids and men, photographs in the park and then up in the sky on probably the coolest mode of transportation I have seen at a wedding, they arrive at the reception at the Bissell Tree House. Yes, I wrote TREE HOUSE!!! WHHHAAAA??? Yeah! Scroll down and you will see the tree house and a venue immersed in glitter, navy and fuchsia!

One day (and soon) I am going to have to break down and buy myself these shoes!Amazing wedding dress and veil!!!What did I tell you? Right? STUN NING!!!!I love how the fuchsia ties in with the navy...CHEERS!!Need a closer look at those Kate Spades? Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to get me some of those!

A Completely DIY, Absolutely Incredible Bachelorette Party Style Shoot

I could not resist this one brideys. I HAD to share this with you. I mean, how could I pass up a sparkly, glittery, super hot style shoot? Right? The best part? The price! Holy shit! I am totally dying over this, and I am so excited to show it off, because it is completely obtainable!

So, enjoy the eye candy, and learn more about this incredible "party" as I ask Amy Lovlien, of True Emerald Styling and Planning, a few questions about how to achieve such a lovely outcome without being a bridey bitch!

1. This is an absolutely incredible bachelorette style shoot for a DIY bride. What was the budget?

$1,000 for food, beverage & decor.

2. How long would you say the DIY preparations took (from a normal, non-event planner perspective)?

The hardest part of this shoot was gathering everything needed. We used a TON of glitter. After you have every supply it would probably take about 15-20 hours for one person to complete everything (or two long evenings with some friends!).

3. Where did you procure the items necessary for the shoot?

Paper Source, Anthropologie, Whole Foods

How Barbie's Evolution Relates to Your Wedding

Barbie, she's the ultimate bitch. Right? Seriously, she's got long, long legs, a rack that won't quit and her hair is always perfect. Actually, everything about her is always perfect. I bet she's even really nice too. The problem? Yeah... she's not real, and if she were human they say that because her boobs are so big, this bitch would be walking on all fours just to support her upper body. So why, ladies, do we continue to compare ourselves to a doll; something that is so completely fake and almost untouchable (without loads of "plastic" surgery)? Kinda reminds me how of often you, bridey, compare yourself and your wedding to those insanely gorgeous yet entirely exaggerated "real" weddings seen on TV.
