Super SLIMEY Sunday ~ A Bride's Plea for Help

Hey BB!

Plea for help!

I had a pretty bad experience with our officiant at our wedding...

We had spoken to him on the phone and felt really good about him, so we went ahead and booked. At that point, he sent us their "suggested ceremonies", none of which we liked at all. His "most popular" one was this weird thing about the 5 needs of men (a wife who puts out, always acts like she's into it, keeps the house nice and "wears her hair in a style that is pleasing to him") and the 5 needs of women (I can't remember any but that she wanted to be financially provided for and get cuddles... seriously).

After seeing that, we decided we'd probably do better to try and draft our own ceremony and ask him to follow it- he said that was totally cool, and actually complimented the ceremony when I first sent it via email as well as 2 weeks before the wedding when we did our sit down planning meeting. We went over the ceremony, he asked us to add some things, cut some things and allow him to improv specific parts, all of which we agreed to. We felt really good about everything when we left.

However, the day of the wedding it felt like he hadn't looked at our ceremony again after that meeting. He messed up the name of one of my dead grandfathers (my grandmother was obviously pretty upset), included parts of the ceremony he'd wanted us to cut, and in general seemed very uncomfortable and lost (lots of awkward pauses and "umm"s). I'd made a point of explaining that I would be keeping my name and didn't want to be announced as Mr. and Mrs. X.

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Little Italy Engagement Shoot

Don't get me wrong, I love the wild and crazy engagement shoots. Painting each other, hunting each other and even rolling around in the snow with bottles of spray paint are fantastic, but if you're not into the craziness, a traditional engagement shoot is just fine. However, if your passion for each other bleeds through... Well, that's just fucking splendid. Take Louanne and Joe for instance. It's clear to me that they have electricity just by looking at these cool ass photographs. Right?

Louanne is a super stylish and creative hairstylist and makeup artist. Joe is a witty and sarcastic middle school english teacher (awwww...). I'd say their personalities balance each other out perfectly.

From the Iliana, the photographer: "For their engagement session, Louanne and Joe wanted to go somewhere vibrant and fun. We decided to shoot in Little Italy in Downtown San Diego because there's so much color and energy there. We had fun exploring the area and snapping some great photos. At one point it did start to rain, so we ducked into a nearby bar-- Bottlecraft-- which is one of all of our favorites. Those ended up being some of my favorite photos! And in the end, the sun began to shine, giving us just enough time for a few more photos, with the sunshine glistening off the wet surfaces!"

This one really speaks to me. If I were them, this photograph would totally be hanging over my fireplace for the world to see..

Super Stylish Sunday ~ A Great Gatsby OBSESSED Photo Shoot

Brideys, you are about to be blinded by this absolutely brilliant Great Gatsby photo shoot. Seriously. Turn off your phone (c'mon, just for a short while), shut the door, and allow yourself to be taken back to the 1920s with all of it's grandeur and elegance. Savor these sublime photographs, and perhaps even get some marvelous ideas for your wedding too!

A few words about this fantastic shoot: "The inspiration for this shoot came from that most opulent and glamorous Gatsby era, the inimitable 1920’s. The vision was to create marvelous scenes reminiscent of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s most notorious work. Full of grandeur and historic character, The Society Room of Hartford served as the perfect venue providing architectural drama and elegant interiors. We selected a rich jewel tone palette accented with silver and gold to create an overall majestic ambiance. This was further accomplished by the luxurious details styled by Dani Fine Photography, Tony Palmieri of Datura: A Modern Garden, Geoffrey Ecker and Kia Martinson of General Eclectic. Palmieri also designed gorgeous arrangements and custom bouquets to compliment each look worn by the models."

More details about these photographs: "The Dani Fine Photography team conceptualized, styled and photographed this remarkable shoot. What really made this shoot unusual was the collaborative effort to source genuine antiques from this period. We wanted to underscore the luxury, excess and utter beauty of the time by incorporating some authentic pieces. General Eclectic was a terrific resource to that end. Additionally we also had an amazing vintage dress provided by Tova’s Vintage Shop and a myriad of lavish jewels and other accessories provided by a variety stylists and experts."

If you know me at all, then you KNOW how I feel about cake, and this one? Fucking astonishing! The color pallet, the jewels and the styling alone blow me away!

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Whimsical Wonder Wheel

I love this wedding. Seriously, how cool are the bride and groom? Hold on, let me count the ways... Let's see... They live in Brooklyn, NY, Joseph (the groom) is rockin' a rad fedora, Ashley is OWNING an incredible, feather headpiece and they're eating a fucking hot dog!! LOVE IT!!! But, the best part? Look how much fun they're having! I mean... Just look at them chomping that dog! Although if they weren't having fun, then something would be very, very wrong! Right? And would you look at that boutonniere! Or the HOT red tie? FAB U LOUS!

Because Ashley and Joseph are about to have their first anniversary, I thought I would celebrate with them by sharing their wedding in my Super Stylish section (um, because it's so fucking fantastic and stylish, duh). So, happy anniversary Ashley and Joe! Thank you for sharing your coolness with BB!

So... You know what? The ceremony was supposed to be on the Wonder Wheel (AWESOME), but they were painting it in preparation for Memorial Day, so it ended up being held on the Boardwalk instead.

Look how strikingly beautiful Ashley is? Right? It doesn't hurt that she is a superstar marathon runner!

I picture her yelling to her guests that, "C'mon on people, it's time for the ceremony!"

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Dreams Really Do Come True...

Look at this picture. I mean, REALLY look. Would you believe me if I told you that this is a rainbow themed, styled shoot at Morningside Manor in Arvada, Colorado? The reason I'm asking is because doesn't this couple look like a real soon-to-be or married couple? Seriously... I just can't believe that they are part of the shoot! Perhaps they are together in real life, or maybe after the shoot they got down and dirty... rainbow style. But, no matter what, the chemistry of the "models" mixed with the awesomeness of this styled shoot almost leaves me at a loss for words! ALMOST.

Okay, moving past the obvious sexual tension, I really applaud all of the hard work that went into this photo session. Brideys, if you scroll down, you will see some profoundly creative tablescapes, a fabulously cool cake and a pretty dramatic altar. If you're looking for a creative theme with tons of DIY elements, then check this shit out!

I have to admit, I'm not usually a fan of the bow on the chair thing, but because of the multicolor effect, I really love it!

I am obsessed with the alternating napkins and beverages! What a good idea! I mean... just throw a little vodka in the glass, and it may even be perfect!

YUM. YUM. YUM. And you know what the best part is? It's a cake that can easily be made by a friend or relative, that will look cool and cost you nothing.

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Tattoos, Boudoir, Baseball Hats... Oh My!

Would you look at how damn sexy this woman is? Seriously. In case you haven't noticed, I really like sex. Whoops! Typo! Hope that bridey bitch from last Tuesday isn't reading... What I meant to say that I really like sexy, confident women who aren't afraid to show a little skin (or a lot of skin), but mostly, I dig those chicks brave enough to be comfortable in their own skin. Right? And Shante? Well, she's amazing. She's a super beautiful, super sexy, stunning woman who is just OWNING this photo shoot.

Brideys, because I love sex, I mean sexy boudoir shoots... I feel the need to keep showing you how truly fantastic they can be with the right photographer and with the right attitude. Do it for yourself or do it for your man, but just do it! Because when you're older and gravity has is beginning to weigh you down (or your breasts), you'll wish you had some pictures of yourself the way you used to be!

Are you completely in love with the veil like I am? I love it for this boudoir shoot, but I keep picturing how fab it would be in white, floating down the aisle.

Look closely at Shante's shoes. Not only do they scream FMP, but if you look at the heel, you'll see very subtle spikes. AWESOME!

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Engagement Session Gone Wild!

I know that this will surprise you, but I like to have fun. Seriously, sometimes a girl just needs to let her hair down and get a little bit crazy. But, what happens when you throw in some paint (and maybe even some booze) and bring your man with you? A fucking awesome engagement shoot! That's what!

Gotta be honest (because I don't know how to be any other way), I LOVE to work with people who like to have fun. It certainly makes my job so much easier and more enjoyable when a couple is great to work with, and rock a fantastic sense of humor. And this engagement shoot? Well, they definitely have a sense of humor!

And you know what else? The shoot? It's super stylish too. What a great idea for an engagment session! I mean, I love all of the bright colors, the natural surroundings of Mount Charleston, and the whimsy fabulousness, don't you? But, most of all? I really dig how Ayla and Jon play with each other. It's clear that they have deep connection, and I bet a superb love life too! Sorry... Couldn't help it! Anyway, enjoy the cool photographs! I hope they inspire you, bridey, to break out of the mold and let your true colors (haha!) shine through!

In case there was any question of who the groom was!

Or the bride...

I love Ayla! She's always laughing; her mouth constantly stuck in a smile...

Super Stylish Sunday ~ A Winery Engagement Session

Seriously, thank God for Sunday. I think we can all agree that perhaps we need to rest our weary heads and relax a bit after the craziness in Boston. And I really couldn't think of a better way to do that then to show you an engagement session at a winery. Right? And as you read the note from the bride, and scroll down to check out the photographs, I hope you will see what I did. PURE LOVE. As a wedding planner, when I see couples like this, it truly makes me proud to help create and orchestrate a kick ass celebration for two people who just "get it". And Sirinya and Khiem? Well, they get it...

(And, not for nothing... I love that Sirinya and Khiem chose to have their engagement session somewhere cool; somewhere that allowed them to act naturally with each other... almost as if the photographer wasn't event there. Know what I mean, bridey?)

From Sirinya, the bride: We met over 10 years ago through mutual friends but didn't start dating until a couple of years later. We were always attracted to each other but hesitant because we've been friends for so long. In October of 2005, we decided to break the seal and went on our first date to a Dodger game. I knew Khiem was a keeper when he bought me a beer, garlic fries and my very first Dodger dog. We soon made it official on January 5th, 2006.

The more time we spent together creating new life experiences, the deeper we fell in love. We both have a passion for food and traveling, soon becoming partners in crime everywhere we went. Khiem always likes to surprise me and recently bought tickets to the Jason Mraz concert on my birthday. The night was perfect! We drank wine, we sang and danced until the very last song. Moments like these are ones that we cherish the most and we're so excited to spend the rest of our time by each other's side.

I love this photograph. Seriously, it's as if they are the only two in the place! Nothing else matters... just them.

I need these wine glasses.

I have to admit, for some reason, seeing empty wine glasses makes be a teeny, tiny bit jealous at the moment...

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Traintastic Weddings

Maybe it's because I've been taking the train (subway) to my new office, or maybe it's because I'm a little bit fascinated by trains (and NOT just because of that scene in Risky Business), but I've been thinking about how cool a train themed wedding could be. It's definitely a theme that as a wedding planner, I don't see very often. And really, it can be amazingly fabulous, and certainly memorable for you and your guests. Seriously, just look at that photograph! How'd you like that to be hanging in your home? Right??

Brideys, we all know that by executing your wedding theme beautifully and accurately, you (or you and your wedding planner) single-handedly have the power to create an almost euphoric atmosphere. And a train theme? Well, it's surprisingly romantic and certainly unique. So, if you're unsure as to your wedding theme or if you even want to have a theme at all, perhaps after viewing this post you will have somewhat of an epiphany... And you know what? It'd be a traintastic wedding!

Look at this sensational photograph! I am lovin' how cool the bride and groom are.

This photograph really got to me. Actually, it was the catalyst for writing this post about how stylish and almost distinguished a train themed wedding could be. It's cool. It's unique. It's fabulous.

I really love this train ticket invitation! Trust me, there is a very thin line between cheesy and classy with this type of invite, and I feel as though this one encapsulates the theme without it looking childlike or lame.

Unbelievable. I really love that you can't see their faces.

Super Stylish Sunday ~ I'm Sexy and I Know It...

When photographer, Jen Sinclair, sought out a non-traditional boudoir model, Brittany answered. And thank goodness she did! Because not only is she absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she is non-traditional. Be it the wavy locks of luscious purple hair, the colorful tattoos or her damn sexy curves, Brittany is HOT! But, most of all? Brittany is confident... And it totally shows with every single photograph.

And you know what, brideys? Don't even bother having boudoir photographs taken, if you're not going to flaunt your body and confidently, because it'll show in the pictures. You'll end up looking more like a scared little girl instead of a sexy bride-to-be. Just LOOK at Brittany! She's amazing, and she completely OWNS it in these hot pictures!

OMG, look up! Can we just talk about how perfect her ass is? Sorry, but you know I call it like I see it! And that is a perfect ass!! I love the way her photographer only lets us see only a glimpse too... Certainly gets the juices going that's for sure! Whoever he is , he's a lucky guy! And... honestly? I am a little bit obsessed with her hair. I love the color, and I love how perfectly it flows down her back.

To me, the photograph in the mirror, is probably the most sexy of them all. This woman exudes sexiness, and is so seductive and confident all mashed up into one. This is Brittany OWNING her boudoir experience, brideys. Seriously, if you need a confidence boost before your boudoir shoot, then study this post before you get down...

Super Stylish Sunday ~ Color Me Mine

Happy Easter! I purposely decided not to do anything Easter related because by the end of the holiday, you're gonna be totally Eastered out, totally sick of candy (well, maybe...), eggs, ham and even Easter eye candy! So, I thought I'd give you straight eye candy instead... And what I am showing you today is super stylish and such a bloody fantastic idea for engagement shoot, that I just about fell over when I saw the pictures!

If you look on my about page, you'll see that I love to photograph graffiti, so in my humble opinion, this engagement shoot not only encompasses a colorfully phenomenal backdrop for a photo shoot, but then... THEY PAINT EACH OTHER! Holy shit! Right? I mean, obviously I'm guessing that the dress the bride is wearing in the photographs isn't her actual wedding dress, but perhaps it's similar or perhaps it's completely different. But, who cares!! It's fabulous! I mean, imagine these pics hanging in your home? So not traditional... so not expected... and SO not boring!

Brideys, if you're looking for a fun way to play during your engagement shoot, this is it! Go ahead... try something outside of your norm. Get comfortable being uncomfortable! The pictures are completely worth it!

So... they started off all lovey dovey with beautiful black and white photographs in front of a lovely backdrop. Holding hands, a lovely snuggle and then....

BAM! Oh... What do we have here? Some cans of paint? How awesome is that!?

Look at their faces! Through their smiles I can see the desire. Ewww... Not THAT kind of desire

Super Stylish Sunday ~ More Like Super Sexy Sunday... Boudoir Gone Badass

Happy Sunday, brideys! I'm feeling a bit naughty today. What about you? No? Too early? Well, maybe these photographs will get you in the mood (and then your man will thank me later). Anyway, today's post goes beyond classy boudoir pictures. It's about getting comfortable being UNCOMFORTABLE. Why not go out of your comfort zone for these special photographs? I mean the fact that you're even having these pictures TAKEN requires balls, so why not go just a bit further?

Don't just surprise your fiancé with the pictures, but surprise him with how different they are than what he would have expected from you. I know that he will certainly appreciate any boudoir photos you give him, but with a bit of sparkle, role playing and even cookies? Yeah, the dude will go crazy.

I'm not just talking smack, brideys. Over the summer, I plan on having some boudoir photographs taken, and I'll definitely post them on BB. Most likely, they'll be anything but traditional... You'll see... But for now, just enjoy the eye candy and take away some ideas for your shoot!

I really want to do this. Roll around in gold glitter... NAKED! But, girls, to get this look, you must work with a professional. Otherwise, I can totally see glitter gone bad... Picking up what I'm puttin' down? Let's keep the glitter out of certain crevices...

Check out the makeup! I am completely in love with this look, and I think it would be a cool way to express yourself during a boudoir shoot if you weren't totally excited about rolling around in glitter, or straddling a piano... That, or rockin' a blue (or pink, or blond, or purple) wig? Something that you would never put on your head under normal circumstances? That look would definitely provide an element of surprise for your man...

If my ass was this perfect, then I'd make this getup a daily party of my routine! The reason I chose this picture is because if you are not a lingerie person, why not BE one for the shoot?

Great shoes. Great legs. Great color.

Cookie anybody? Right?? I love this picture! I love the stripes and I love the cookie offering. If you are not particularly fond of turning on an oven normally, then why not pretend to be during your shoot?
