Destination wedding

Fantasy Friday ~ When Brooklyn Goes a L'il Bit Country... A Beautiful, Mountainy, Ranch Wedding!

Amy and Cameron? New Yorkers! Yup! They are living in Brooklyn and had their wedding at a ranch in Nevada! Talk about a destination wedding!! Right? Why? Well, because Amy is originally from the area, and it has become special to Cameron too. And, why the fuck not? Why not have your wedding on a mountain range? If the area is meaningful to the B+G, and the wedding is about them as a couple, then how FABULOUS (and daring) are they for selecting this cool venue? I bet the New Yorkers were a little out of their element!

Bridey, when asked what advice Amy had for other brides, she said something that totally resonated with me (and SEVERAL brides who I've worked with in the past)... She said, "Though we were engaged in December and married in November, we didn't decide on the city of our wedding until about five months out. Keeping the planning window short was a huge blessing. No one needs to obsess about details for longer." Can I get a HELL YES!!! Bridey, sometimes this isn't always possible, but if you can do it, then DO IT! Enjoy the engagement, enjoy each other, and try to enjoy the planning! But, if nothing else, then please enjoy the details of this BEAUTIFUL wedding!!Cow...
WOW! Such a beautiful wedding dress!!
Um. Yes, please! Love the shoes, Amy!
Amy: The ceremony began with a welcome from Cameron's dear friend Zack, and my brother gave a blessing that captured the room. Pastor Pat Mecham administered the vows--first for our family, asking them to promise their support of our marriage, and then for us. We wrote our own vows and repeated the same promises to one another.
One of my fave pics! SO super candid!!
Stunning.
I'm guessing that holding a pitchfork would probably be too much for these New Yorkers!
FABULOUS escort cards!!
Wow. Just wow!
Amy: "We shipped Junior's New York Cheesecake from Brooklyn to Elko. It's the best cheesecake in New York and was a slice of the city at our country wedding."
I love that Amy didn't have any bridesmaids... Amy: "Just my sister. It was important to us to have our family surround us on our wedding day. Cameron's brother was his best man."
Clearly, everybody is having a great time!
Thank you Amy and Cameron for sharing your kickass wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Cozy, Intimate, Beach Wedding in Tulum Mexico

I have to admit, normally I would never open a post with a group shot. Because, if I'm honest? I find them a wee bit boring and staged. But, this one? Definitely not the case! Seriously... Can you imagine being in this pic? I mean, it's clear that everybody is already having a great time, and thrilled to be celebrating with Farina and Dan in Tulum, Mexico. Talk about a FAB destination for a wedding!! And, how cool is it that the rose petals are flying in the air and guests have drinks in their hands? Now, that's the way to do it, bridey!

Okay, so at the risk of sounding hokey, this wedding 100% what getting married is all about. There's a deep tenderness and an intimacy captured throughout that truly has me on the verge of tears. Farina and Dan are surrounded by a small crowd, on a beautiful day, rocked some seriously sensational décor, and their guests definitely are having a lot of fun. It really doesn't get better than that, right? Enjoy!
Totally LOVE Farina and Dan's invitation!
Farina... OMFG! You are STUN NING! Like amazingly gorgeous in that silk gown!!
Whoa....
Dan was waiting impatiently for his bride to present herself on the beach... I mean...
I'm such a sucker for the hand on the face kiss or embrace.
Hello beautiful beach! What a FAB place for a ceremony!
Farina! I'm pretty sure that's the exact face I would be making as I walked down the aisle!!
<3!!!
Such an incredible Mayan ceremony!
Simple. Elegant. Gorgeous.
Love how the chairs don't match...
Thank you all for coming!!! Now, it's time for some fun!
Thank you Farina and Dan for sharing your fantastic destination wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

Fantasy Friday ~ A Kickass, Rock 'N' Roll, Destination Wedding

Are you totally dying over this photograph? I mean... The kiss with the hands (OMG...So romantic!), the smiling bride as she kisses her groom, the tat, the sky?? Right? I love that this is real. You know what I mean, bridey? A real wedding photograph. Not a styled shoot. Not a magazine spread. A real, fucking cool wedding photograph! And, you know what? There are more where that came from! Because Lindsay and Dave are just that cool, so obvi their wedding is going to be cool too!

The other thing that makes this wedding stand out to me is that the B+G are from Canada and decided to host a destination wedding in Mexico. Not only that, but these two crazy kids, and their wedding, are rockin' a whole bunch of red. Yup! RED! Everything from Lindsay's wedding dress, to Dave's bow tie to the flowers to the chairs and more! Okay, enough out of me! Time for you to go enjoy this kickass, rock 'n' roll, destination wedding!
I LOVE the red. Like, seriously LOVE the super bright red!
I always show the girls getting ready before the guys, so today, I thought I would show the boys first!
Lindsay got dressed by herself and then surprised her bridesmaids... So fun!
That bouquet is FAB!!
Simply stunning. I am completely obsessed with the deep red décor against the blue ocean.
Love how the guys are all wearing different bow ties. So cool!
Probably one of may favorite pics to grace the "pages" of Bitchless Bride.
Lindsay, you look amazing! Like, OMFG amazing!
You know what they always say... A couple with matching shoes...
Def going to steal this idea from the B+G!
Apparently, after the first dance, the music got loud, the people up and the dancing got crazy!
Thank you for sharing your cool destination wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

Fantasy Friday ~ Destination... Las Vegas! A Fun-Filled, Getting Down on the Dance Floor, Party Bus Riding, Las Vegas Wedding!

Bridey, if you know me at all, then you know I love Las Vegas. I got married there, I gamble there, and I do bad things there! Just kidding! Well... Anyway, it's not about me... It's about the B+G,  Kate & Jake. They said "I do" at the Las Vegas Country Club, and considering that neither the bride or groom are from Vegas, it was a destination wedding! The best part? In true Vegas fashion, all of the wedding guests were taken to the Las Vegas sign in a wild party bus ride for a final photo. OMG! Right?

The lowdown on Kate and Jake? Well, they met at a bar (just like my hus and me!). Jake had just gotten back from a tour in Spain, and needed a cocktail. Kate saw Jake from across the bar, and just had to say "hello", and the rest is history! Bridey, tons of inspiration in this FAB destination wedding! Enjoy!

Could ya bust? That's Carly's (the B+G's daughter) amazing dress!
OMG!!! SO cute! (And, I want to find me a pair!)
Cheers!
Awwwwwww....
Damn girl. GORGE!
HAHA!
Wow. She's adorable! I love her transportation, too!
Easy peasy.
So beautiful!
Stunning cake, and looks tasty too!
Look how much fun everybody is having!!!
Such a cool shot!

Fantasy Friday ~ Grandma the Pimp! Oh! And a Beautiful Destination Wedding with Stunning Post Wedding Pics!

Does that say "Grandma the pimp"? Yup! It sure does! Christa and Nicolas met because the bride's grandmother is a longtime friend of the groom's parents. Upon meeting Nicolas at a party, Grandma knew immediately that Christa would connect with Nicholas. And when the B finally met the G, they fell in love! I mean... How cool is that??!! And, as crass as I can sometimes be, GRANDMA named herself the pimp, not me! Seriously, I think I'd get along well with Grandma!

Outside of their unique and fun story, Christa and Nicolas threw a fabulous destination wedding! I'm loving the simple and stunning details, I'm obsessed with Christa's dress (and frankly, her great ass... Don't judge me, you'll see!), and I'm psyched to see how the B+G spent the day after their wedding. Enjoy this fun and FAB wedding!
Clearly, these 'maids have a great time together!!
Remember how I said Christa had a great ass? See what I mean? A GOR GE OUS wedding dress to go with her fabulous ass!
Is he pulling on his beard?
Proud papa!
Now, who do you think is in the top left corner weeping with joy?
Now, THAT'S a photo booth!
Great final wedding day pic!! Now, get ready for a glimpse into the day after!
Um, not a bad way to spend the day after your wedding, right?
Wedding rings!!!
That's hot (Holy fuck! Did I just quote Paris Hilton? Sorry!)!

Fantasy Friday ~ No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem... A Laid Back, Beautiful, Beach Wedding in Mexico

"No frills or fancy things." Said no bride ever... Right??? But, Samantha did!! I know, I love her already! She and Joaquin strayed from a traditional wedding reception and opted for a lovely, intimate dinner with friends and family to celebrate their nuptials. Once everybody filled their bellies with delicious food and drink, they moved the party to Gitano for some music and dancing. How fun is that?? As a couple who love to travel and drink amazing wine, sounds like the perfect evening! Oh, a cool l'il side note? Their wedding day was the anniversary of the day they met four years earlier. I mean...

Samantha and Joaquin wanted a wedding that was casual and comfortable. As a couple who truly compliment each other, Joaquin is quite the joker, and Samantha is a bit more serious, their wedding captured who they are as a couple without the stress or bullshit of conventional wedding planning. And these two? Didn't grow up in Mexico... This was a destination wedding! Joaquin grew up in Milwaukee and Samantha grew up in a small town in Minnesota. Didn't see that coming, did you? Neither did I which totally makes me love them even more!! Such great inspiration in this beautiful wedding! Enjoy!

Holy shit would I love to be there RIGHT NOW!!! Looks beautiful!

Love this pic of Samantha!
TOTALLY obsessed with Samantha's dress. You look gorgeous!!!
Joaquin, you're looking quite dapper!
I could have designed this card myself...
When you're getting married on the beach, shoes are definitely optional! Those anklets? Fantastic!!!
Hi. WOW.
Samantha, Joaquin. You're a damn sexy couple.
Seriously, all I see are the sparks flying!
Love. Love. Love.
A pre-cocktail, cocktail? Don't mind if I do!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Classically Chicago, Beautifully Orchestrated and Simply Stunning Wedding

Isn't that photograph incredible? I mean, it's really amazing. The venue? The Rookery Building in Chicago. According to the website, The Rookery Building is "... one of the most historically significant buildings in Chicago." "...The Rookery seamlessly combines the flair of an era gone by with state-of-the-art building systems and technology. Designated a Chicago Landmark in 1972 after being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, The Rookery is universally considered an architectural masterpiece." Um, I think they forgot, "An incredible venue for an elegant wedding..."

Technically, Nicole and Michael's wedding was a destination wedding. Nicole grew up in Chicago, and the two of them made their way back to her hometown for their wedding day. Bridey, I have to say that the details encapsulated in this wedding are so polished and so refined that I cannot wait to share it with you! The dress, the gold, the venue and the cake! OH MY!!!!

First of all, I love the robes. Secondly, are they in the tub? LOVE IT!!
OMG, Nicole! That dress! It's really incredible! I love the intricate detail... You look GORGE!
Michael, that is seriously one of the cutest groomy pictures I've ever posted.
OMG. SO phenomenal! I am completely obsessed with that wedding dress!
Such unbelievable architecture!
It may be good luck, but rain on your wedding day is still annoying. The ceremony was originally going to be outside near Millennium Park, but at the last minute, the call was made to have the ceremony at The Rookery. Thank goodness for plan B!
Nicole, you are absolutely beaming! I LOVE IT!!
There's something about pics in the street that get me all worked up.
Badasses.
Holy shit with this venue! Totally beauteous!
I love all of the gold accents... So elegant.
What the fuck? Is that Bambi?
So beautiful.
Thank you Nicole and Michael for sharing your truly elegant and amazingly stunning wedding with Bitchless Bride!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Stunningly Beautiful, Super Romantic, Mansion Wedding

I love this wedding, and I have a couple crush on Cindy and Dane. (Seriously, how could I not? Look at that dress! And, the dude's name is Dane. Total crush.) You know why, bridey? Because I heard that they were awesome to work with, insanely in love, super in sync and nice people. From a vendor perspective, it really doesn't get much better than that. Jackpot! Seriously, if wedding planners and other wedding vendors knew ahead of time what it would be like to work with each couple prior to the planning, the world would be a much nicer place. Working with lovely people who are genuine and genuinely nice is what it's all about, right? Or it should be for that matter!

Anyway, outside of the serious couple crush I am rockin', there are so many fab deets to share with you, bridey. I mean, the dress is total kickassery, but there is so much more! So, kick back, relax and enjoy the post!
I'm lovin' the subtle mint green Badgley Mischka shoes!I feel warm inside.Cindy, your wedding dress is absolutely incredible! I love the beading and the cut! You look amazing! This should be in a glossy... Cindy is GORGE and this pic is so FAB!!The "ring" boxes. Hell yeah! That's a great shot!!Such a fabulous way of politely saying, get off you're fucking phone during the ceremony. Such cuties!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Childhood Sweethearts Exchange Vows in Jamaica

Tanya and Travis met when they were ten years old in dance class. And now? They are two of the most sought after dancers in the country. True story. Google them. I did (or just click on the links I dropped into their names). OMG! I love having celebrities on BB! But, I also love a good story, and meeting when you're ten years old and then getting married, is pretty awesome! Right? Definitely not the norm...

Bridey, this destination wedding is really something... There is such beauty and personality strewn throughout that I had a hard time narrowing down the pics I wanted to share today. An added bonus? Kickass photos of the groom getting ready! You'll see. If that FAB tux in the pic above doesn't give you a glimpse... So, bridey, enjoy this cool and beautiful wedding. I did!

The lace detail in this wedding gown is absolutely stunning. WOW!Tanya, you're STUN NING! Simply gorgeous! Lovin' the hot pink toes with the blue shoes. Hi Travis. You're damn sexy.Yup! That's a custom tux that Travis designed (with the help of Trend Custom Tailors). I'll be honest, not many men would rock this tux the way Travis did...Tanya made the boutonnieres. Well, you know, she made the shells into boutonnieres.Wow. That look! To Travis, there is nobody else in the room...Tanya made the bouquets too! How fucking awesome are those?!I don't know what's in it, but I want one!DAMN! There's a reason both Travis and Tanya sought after dancers!

Fantasy Friday ~ A "Sweet" and Stunning, DIY Hawaiian Wedding

Aren't you dying over Jessica's hair? I mean the length, and the pure gorgeousness of the curls + the purple flower are enough to give me some serious hair envy. But, aside from the stunning nature of the bride, can we talk about how Aaron is looking at Jessica? Right? His face exudes utter joy; utter happiness. And Jessica? Well, you can tell, even by the back of her head, that she is smiling from ear to ear at Aaron. That, my dear bridey is what getting married is about... Utter joy and happiness.

Jessica and Aaron met while Jessica was waitressing. Talk about a tip! Meeting the love of your life is a pretty awesome way to end your shift! Right?? The two are avid travelers, so it seemed only natural for Aaron to propose to Jessica while in Tuscany, Italy surrounded by its vast beauty. As for the wedding, the B+G returned to Hawaii to say their vows (they currently live in Guam), and the majority of items were DIY, including the ENTIRE sweet table (WOW!). Yup! The bride made all of the desserts herself, and her FAB wedding planner plated them on platters out of reused glassware. That's some serious dedication! Anyway... Enjoy the AMAZE deets of Jessica and Aaron's wedding!

Bling bling.Jessica, you look sensational, and so at ease.Beautiful. Just beautiful.LOVE IT!!!! That look is absolutely priceless! What a fabulous idea for the programs! I love the benches and rose petal lined aisle. This pic... OMG... This pic... I love it so much.

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Fabulously Gorgeous, Waikiki Hawaii Wedding

I love a good story about sig others meeting when there's booze involved. Perhaps it's because I met my sig other in a bar (def a lot of booze involved), and we are still going strong! And the cool thing about Lancer (TOTALLY love that name!!) and Eddie? Yes, they met during a booze-filled celebration walking down St. Ann Street in New Orleans (in front of the Bourbon Pub), but, they kinda knew each other. Well, they had heard of each other over the years through their friends, but hadn't met in person. And, when they finally did meet, sparks flew! How fucking FAB is that? Lancer (still dying over how awes that name is!) says it best, so I'll let him tell you the story in his own words.

From the Groom: So all of my friends already knew Eddie. He was managing the Planet Hollywood hotel in Las Vegas and all of my friends would go to Vegas and he would hook them up. I was supposed to go once, but something else came up, so I never met him and only heard of this Vegas Eddie. So, in March of 2010 I went to New Orleans for my friend's Bachelor/Bachelorette Party. We arrived on Friday, March 19th and started drinking early. We were walking down Bourbon Street and turned the corner at St. Ann when Eddie came around the corner. Everyone I was with knew Eddie and saw him and yelled "Eddie!!". So, I met Eddie for the first time in front of the Bourbon Pub. I just thought he was so handsome. I have a thing for gray hair.

We met and hit it off right away. Later that night...ok, within 5 minutes... I was coming onto him. Our friend pulled out his phone and started recording me hit on Eddie. We have our first kiss recorded and our friend in the background said "wouldn't it be wild if they ended up together". Eddie was just stopping for the night in New Orleans on his way back to Atlanta, but ended up staying the whole weekend and came with us to all the weekend party events. He was living in Atlanta at the time and we ended up taking a few trips to get to know each other. We met in Vegas for a weekend and Boston for a weekend. Eddie then got a job in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. He was planning to go for a year, but the job was not what he wanted, so he moved back to Houston, where I was. He was planning to move in with his sister, her husband, 2 kids and their mom until he figured out his next move. I was excited to see him again and suggested that he move in with me since I was living alone in a 4-bedroom house. He didn't want to be a bother or move too fast, but I insisted.Everything was great after that. So, the proposal was not that exciting. No random flash mobs or hot balloons involved. We already bought matching rings.\In December 2012, we went on a cruise. While sitting at The Red Frog Pub on the Carnival Magic, we were talking about names. I said that boyfriend seems too juvenile, partner seems too professional, and husband is not accurate until we get married. Eddie took off my ring and said, let's get married, and put it back on my finger. I said yes, so now we can be called finances. We didn't pick a date or start planning until earlier this year. One of my FAVE pics ever!!

Fantasy Friday ~ A True Fantasy... A Stunning Italian Wedding

I have been lucky enough to be married to my hus for 10 years. TEN YEARS!! OMG! No, I’m not an old lady; I just took the leap at a young age! But, anyway… Although we eloped to Las Vegas, a few years ago on Bitchless Bride, I wrote about what my fantasy wedding would have been had we decided to be a bit more “traditional”. And while I would still love for Prince to play at the reception, I have to admit, when I saw Julie and Deneb’s wedding submission come through, I think that perhaps I’ve changed my mind because their wedding is exactly what I would want mine to be, today.

Andrea, the talented photographer, shot this wedding in Gavi, Italy (in the Piedmont region, not too far from Milan) at a venue called L’Ostellier. Um, not only is this a beautiful location, but also, they make their own wine!! A MAZ ING! (My hus and I honeymooned in Italy, and I swear I could have stayed there for the rest of my life!) Julie and Deneb’s wedding was not only stunning, but amazingly romantic… Scroll down… You’ll see! Bridey, if a destination wedding is your plan, I highly suggest Gavi, Italy!! Enjoy!

I'm absolutely OB SESS ED with the invitations!!! Julies's mom made her dress. Talk about DIY!!! It's incredibly beautiful! This is a first for me. I have never seen a photograph of somebody cutting a wedding dress (on the day of the wedding). Although, I am assuming that it's Julie's mom, and considering that she made the dress, I guess it's okay!!The flowers are stunning, but look beyond them... That's one hell of a backdrop!!!Friends of the B+G...Julie's dad officiated the wedding... Sniff sniff...You'll see...

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ Jeannie & Glenn's Hip Hopalicious Wedding... Destination Hawaii

I threw it out there, brideys. I shook it up. I didn't ask for specifics, I asked for favorites... Yup! I asked your wedding photographers to submit their favorite weddings. Why? Why not ask for themes, colors or whatever? Well, because I am so fucking busy and crazy these days that I kinda needed to be reminded why I am in this coo coo industry in the first place! Seriously. My ass is getting kicked every weekend (I mean... I LOVE seeing the weddings come through to fruition, but MAN am I tired!!), and I feel myself starting to bust at the seams...

Sooooo, thank God for Rachel from Rachel Robertson Photography... She submitted this beautiful Hawaiian wedding, and when I saw the stunning details, deep jewel tones, and the fucking fabulous hip hop dance the B+G performed for their guests, suddenly, I was reminded that there are cool brides and grooms who just need a little friendly event planning help. Especially when the wedding is in Hawaii and you are in New York! Holy destination wedding! PLUS, Rachel mentioned that Jeannie and Glenn were two of the most hilarious and fun couples she had ever worked with, and when you see the photographs, you will see why! I already mentioned the hip hop dancing, but wait until you see Glenn undress Jeannie on the dance floor... OH YES HE DID!!!!

Holy shit with the gorgeous flowers. Damn.
Definitely need to add these to my "Shoes I Want" board on Pinterest!!
Beach. Orchids. Altar. Amazing.
LOVE the program fans!!
Such a subtle, lovely shot...
WOW! Really pretty dresses and flowers!
I love Glenn!!!

Fantasy Friday ~ A Fun-Filled Destination Wedding to the FAB New Orleans

You gotta love a great sense of humor, right? Odds are, if you enjoy my blog, then you most certainly do! Well, bridey, all you have to do is look at these awesome photographs to see that Nicole and Shawn are definitely a fun couple who love to laugh (and so does their bridal party)! These two got married in New Orleans, because why the hell not, and rocked out all night! While it wasn't Mardi Gras (sorry kids, there are no boobs in this submission), it didn't stop this group from partying like it was!

What I love about this wedding besides the gorgeous details, silly pics and cool ass cake topper, is that every single person is having a great time and it shows. Friends and family flew from across the country to celebrate with Nicole and Shawn, and they did just that! CELEBRATE!! This is what it's all about, bridey! Getting married to the love of your life and having a fucking fabulous time in the process!

Nicole, you look beautiful. What an A MAZ ING wedding dress!!Nicole, what are you looking at in this picture??? Please, do tell!!My kind of girls!I can tell where the humor comes from on Nicole's side...We did it!! Woot! Woot!

Fantasy Friday ~ A Hawaiian Wedding Paradise

As I sit at my desk eating M&Ms like somebody is going to take them away from me, surrounded by files for upcoming weddings and blasting Pandora, I find myself daydreaming about Amy and Billy’s wedding. Seriously, there is so much I have to do (and should be doing NOW instead of later), but all I can think about is how captivating these photographs are that I had to stop what I was doing and write about it this second! I mean, there are so many unique details which Amy and Billy did themselves that I could totally cry. And maybe I want to cry because I wish had it in me to grow (and not kill) succulents and make the pots like they did, or because the lace heart in the Amy’s wedding dress was from her mother's dress, or maybe I’m just feeling emotional… But, whatever the case may be, it’s clear that this is an extremely special wedding.

Amy and Billy are special education teachers with hearts of gold. Outside of how FAB they are, the details are pretty kickass!! From the elegant outdoor ceremony, to the extraordinary tented reception and all of cool particulars in-between, there is so much eye candy that I want to fucking eat it! True story… Anyway, bridey, I’ll stop gushing so that you can start scrolling and filling up on some serious inspiration.

What an absolutely stunning gown!!I love love love this ring shot. Billy's ring is super unique too!The first look pics get me every time! The lace around the bouquet is also from her mom's wedding dress...STUN NING. So simple and so stunning...Anybody need to cool off before the ceremony?

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Mid Summer Night Dream in a Secret Garden

Here we go again... My obsession with the amazing photographer, Hilary Cam,continues. This wedding is so spectacular! Dare I say the words, swoon-worthy? Sorry, but it is! And although swooning really isn't my thing, this wedding is just fucking brilliant! I mean... Laura and Dylan created a day so fabulous and so intimate, that when you see the photographs and read a bit about all that went into making this day so lovely, you're probably going to drool... Drawing inspiration from a Midsummer Night’s Dream, their reception was quite heavenly and super romantic. They definitely went with some contemporary and daring twists reflecting their creativity and individuality.

From Hilary Cam: "Laura works as a freelance stylist and designer for The Styling Branch so we knew she had something fabulous planned for her own day. Dylan and Laura’s intimate reception was in absolute seclusion out on Scotland Island. Guests arrived by boat and climbed the sandstone stairs to a magical garden full of fairy lights. Their reception was ethereal; woodland tablescapes with moss, scattered tea lights, mason jars and flowers, with a canopy of Edison lights overhead. Their wedding was intimate, romantic and magical for all who were there."

This photograph says it all.. Brilliant!Hilary Cam: Describe  your wedding in one sentence.
Bride: ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ set within ‘The Secret Garden’

HC: What do you do for work?
Bride: I’m an Interior Designer / Freelance Stylist

For some reason, this pic reminds me of Entourage...HC: How long have you been together?
Bride: 2 years.

HC: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme / style?
Bride: I have always dreamt of having ‘a midsummer nights dream’ garden wedding. I wanted to create an intimate, romantic, magical feeling for us and for our guests. And it was EXACTLY as I had imagined it to be.

Oh yeah! Oh yeah! (Another Entourage reference...)FUCKING AWESOME!

Fantasy Friday ~ Destination Croatia! A Stunningly Beautiful Destination Wedding...

Seriously, why didn't any of my friends (or family) take me to Croatia for their wedding? In fact, why didn't any of my friends (or family) take me anywhere for a wedding? Well, because they aren't Kristen and James. You see, Kristen and James took fifty of their closest friends and family to join them in stunning Croatia to witness their nuptials. Not only that, but this lucky group of peeps got to go to the wedding (obviously), together with several other adventures while they were there. I mean... Hi... They went cliff jumping! OMG!! I would love to think that I could do that, but the truth is, this girl is afraid of heights! So, I would have had to sit that one out! Anyway, they swam in the ocean, did some fancy boating, ate great food and partied like rock stars at Kristen and James' wedding!

The views alone are worth their weight... and actually look like gold! This destination wedding is filled with bright colors, warm people and endless energy!

Simply amazing...OMG... Could I be more American? I can't help but notice how clean everything is! Well, ahem... compared to America!Amazing silhouette, but I have to admit, the cat trotting away is pretty adorable!Hell of a kiss! Bring it James!!!

Real Wedding Wednesday ~ A Pacific Palms Destination Wedding

When I receive a submission from the talented Hilary Cam, I get this ridiculous grin on my face. Why? Well, because Hilary seems to be the luckiest photographer I have ever known. Seriously, he always works with these remarkable couples in picturesque locations with really cool details. I adore his photos and the way each and every one tells a story within the story. Hilary is truly able to capture the essence of each bride and groom he photographs. So, maybe it's not that he's lucky after all. I believe it's called raw talent.

When you take in Melanie and Stuart's wedding in the gorgeous Pacific Palms, New South Wales, Australia, you will see Hilary's raw talent, exposed (sorry, couldn't help it...). These pics speak so loudly, that if I just posted these photos without writing a word, you'd walk away with a full understanding of exactly who Melanie and Stuart are and how their wedding was a brilliant representation of their relationship. What I will tell you is that Melanie is from Australia and Stuart is from the UK so this is a destination wedding. Enjoy!!!

I love the robes.Hilary said that Melanie was super fun and smiled and laughed all day.Hilary Cam: We had a unique groom’s prep in the morning, rather than the classic shots of suits and ties Stuart wanted a more apt prep for a beach setting and so we headed to the beach with his groomsmen who had all travelled from the UK. Stuart got more of Boomerang Beach than he bargained for when he was thrown in the water.I've seriously never seen groomsmen have so much fun while "getting ready". Melanie and Stuart's invitation (designed by the groom) features a kookaburra and a robin holding a love heart – symbolic of an Australian and an Englishman falling in love. I mean... First of all, I love the invite, but the meaning is melt-worthy.

Fantasy Friday ~ Destination New Orleans

I seriously can't think of a better place for a destination wedding than New Orleans. I mean, it's unique, it's fabulous and there's shit to do! Your guests will totally enjoy your wedding, but when they are not celebrating with you, they can actually experience all that The Big Easy has to offer. Seriously, your guests can walk down the street eating a po-boy and drinking a Sazerac all while listening to live music. Pretty cool if you ask me! Go Chileen and Aaron! Nice choice!

Sooooo.... Aaron proposed with Chileen's great-grandmother’s ring on their 8 year anniversary in Maui. Not too shabby Aaron! How do you say "Will you marry me?" in Hawaiian? Well, it goes something like this, “e Mele ana ‘oe ia’u?”. But, why get married in New Orleans? Well, in 2008 Chileen and Aaron had vacationed there to celebrate Aaron’s 30th birthday, and they loved it! Actually, they loved it so much that when they got engaged they decided that their wedding HAD to be in NO!!!

Love the orange flowers on the shoes, but I cannot stop gazing at her great-grandma's ring!!Unbelievable! Stunning wedding dress and insanely FAB bouquet!I love how the bridal party is watching in the background!

The Truth Hurts Tuesday ~ What's a Bridey to do When a Vendor isn't Responding?

Hello BB!

I’ve been a follower of your blog for a while now, even prior to getting engaged (I knew it was coming…)!

BB, I swear that I’ve followed much of your advice about how to be the best bridey I can be. That said, here's my story... I’m planning a destination wedding in Florida, and outside of a few hiccups along the way, wedding planning has been for the most part, okay.

Except for one thing… Getting the person who is handling my reception at her restaurant to email me back in a timely manner. And I promise that I’m not that bride who writes an email at 7 am, and expects a reply by 7:05. I just want her to respond within the week. Is that too much to ask? I mean this has been going on for literally months. MONTHS!

Let me explain.

The restaurant/venue is booked. The next time we are in Florida is for Thanksgiving week, and that is the last time prior to the wedding. Here’s everything that is outstanding:

1. I have asked in previous emails about getting pricing for a musician to play during the reception, (the restaurant has a guy that plays Spanish guitar); she told me she would get a name and number to me, and has not.

2. The menu at the venue changes with the change of seasons. Knowing that, I’ve been asking which menu we will be using, winter or spring (my wedding date is March 1st). No response.

3. I swear that every email I have sent, (which really hasn’t been that many – 4 tops) I have always been cordial and always say something to the tune of that I appreciate your time and help, and so on.

So, now summer goes by, and I send an email asking for the info I need and if we could set up an appointment to finalize things while we are there prior to the Thanksgiving holiday (as we are going to be in town). I sent that email a week ago… No reply.

I know I’m not her only client, but damn this is so frustrating! And it’s not like this is her first time at the rodeo, as I know they have several weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc. booked, and somehow that makes it even worse. My patience is starting to wearing the fuck out.

Please help me in regards as to how to address her so that I can rectify this situation. All I really want to do is get things wrapped up. And at the same time, I don’t want her wishing she never booked me.

Help!!

Sincerely,

"Trying Not to Lose it"
